We are a group of people from all walks of life who have one thing in common- we are opposed to siting a Nuclear Waste Geological Disposal Facility on the Lincolnshire Coast.

🌊 Victory for the East Coast! 🌊
Today, Lincolnshire County Council’s Executive has confirmed it will withdraw from the Community Partnership with Nuclear Waste Services — stopping the plans for a nuclear waste dump.
This is a huge win for our communities, our coastline, and our future.
To everyone involved in Guardians of the East Coast — thank you. Whether you:
đź’¬ Spoke up
đź’· Donated
📢 Waved a banner
🏡 Put up a poster
📝 Filled in a survey or questionnaire
đź‘‚ Or simply helped spread awareness
Your voice was heard. And it made all the difference.
A special thanks to the Parish, Town, District and latterly County Councillors who stood with us. Guardians of the East Coast has always been about collective effort — and today, that effort has paid off.
We may not name names, but make no mistake: every one of you who stood against this proposal has acted as a Guardian.
Onwards — united and proud. 💚

When the news of the GDF proposal for the area first came to the fore a few years ago, I created a questionnaire to try to gauge public opinion and shared it widely online. The feedback was around 85% of respondents were against this.
I shared this with ELDC and LCC but they said that it was not reliable as it was more likely that those against would answer and that the response received would not be sufficient to adequately gauge opinion. Another criticism was that some respondents could have been from outside the search area.
Notwithstanding this, the Community Partnership have launched their own questionnaire in a similar way so this will have the same limitations - however please take the time to give your views. This is no,longer focussed on the former gas site and could be anywhere in the search area and will affect us all if built.
Here is the link:

To support us in the development of this vision we are interested in understanding how people feel about this area, what they value and what they might want to improve for the future. Please share your views with us and provide answers to the questions below.  Many thanks for you...
