A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the wonderful children of the Lyn Valley who came along to the 97th Lyn Children’s party. We hope the kids had a super magical time. Our group of volunteers were thrilled with the turn out and how the party went. There was dancing, games, party food, science experiments and SLIME!

Big thank yous to our Mayor Adrian who came along to open the party, the entertainment provided by Devon Science who thrilled the children with their experiments and slime workshop, the volunteers from Lee Abby who came along to help, DJ Disco Dan for providing the tunes, the group of youngsters who helped in the kitchen, thank you to our committee who hum along in the background through the year organising and planning.

And finally thank you to YOU, for every donation we receive throughout the year, we couldn’t do it without you.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you to the 2026 Lyn Children’s Party, the theme is Science this year if you couldn’t tell by the invites 😉

To the parents and guardians, this fab party has been funded by local generosity and a small committee who has done its best to use that money to give a fun, happy and memorable afternoon.

We’d like to take a moment to appeal – not for funds, but for people to join the Committee. We start planning this in September, meeting once a month – then after the Party we have an AGM. We’d be delighted to see a couple of new faces because we do have a turnover of people – and fresh ideas, fresh enthusiasm, is what enables this local tradition to continue year after year!

So – our AGM is set for Wednesday Jan 28th at Holman Park, 7pm – or for more info, email us on [email protected]

Yours,

LCP Committee

The town hall Christmas tree is looking rather festive adorned with lots of lovely decorations from the community! There is still plenty of time to pop a decoration on the tree, ready in time for Christmas 🎄

Message for details to give a donation to the Lyn Children’s Party, or if you are a local community group you are very welcome to just pop your decoration on. ❄️

Lynton Town Hall has been generously gifted a magnificent Christmas Tree, so all community groups have been invited to create a themed decoration that represents them to be displayed on the Tree - all to showcase how much life, activity and heart there is in our community.

Local businesses are also invited to submit a decoration, but we'd ask this to be accompanied by a donation, which can be made via BACS directly to the Lyn Children's Party. PM for details!

The Lyn Children's Party are thrilled that we have been named beneficary to the donations, and we can't wait to see you at the 2026 Childrens Party on the 10th January.

While our elves are busy creating decorations, yours can be dropped off to Jo at the town hall prior to the Lynton Lights switch on or any time running up to Christmas.

Yours Christmassy,
The Lyn Children’s Party
