The Royal Marines Charity

The Royal Marines Charity RMA - The Royal Marines Charity; Offering lifelong support to the Royal Marines Family. The Royal Marines Charity is the Corps Charity.

Chosen by Royal Marines and here to support Royal Marines and their families. It has among the widest purposes of any service charity in that it looks after both serving and retired Royal Marines, and their dependents – this converts into some 125,000 potential beneficiaries. It goes without saying that we seek to support our wounded and injured in any way we can. But we also seek to improve the q

uality of life for each and every Royal Marine whilst they are serving and beyond. We continue this support long after our people have severed their formal links to the Corps. We actively seek to build lasting relationships with leading UK companies so that Royal Marines leaving the Corps can go on to find meaningful second careers. Sadly, we also provide a death grant to the next of kin of any member of the Corps who has died in service. By giving to The Royal Marines Charity, donors are empowering the Trustees to use the money given wisely, to meet any of the purposes of the wider charity and, crucially, at the point of greatest need at the time. Vision: Royal Marines and their families supported through life. Mission: To provide the best possible through life charitable support for the Royal Marines, their families, veterans, and cadets. Purpose: We are a single, unified and integrated charity for the Royal Marines extended Corps family, where cadets, the serving Corps, veterans, and families are supported through life with benevolence, comradeship, transition support and amenities, underpinned with a cohesive sense of heritage and esprit de corps.

A huge thank you and congratulations to former Royal Marine James Ramshaw, who has completed an incredible marathon across the Great Wall of China, in boots and carrying 30lbs of weight. 💪

James said: “This challenge is about more than endurance – it’s about honouring the mindset, resilience, and sacrifice of the Corps.”

Not only did he conquer 26.2 miles in one of the world's most challenging environments, but he has also raised over £5,500 for the RMA-TRMC.

James would also like to thank every single person who donated so generously. Every contribution helps ensure that no Royal Marine or their family is ever left behind.

Hoofing effort, James! 👏

Early Monday morning, we watched 391 troop march in loud and proud after completing their 9-mile speed march. Since then, they have completed all of the remaining tests to earn their green lids, including the challenging 30-miler across Dartmoor. Now, they await their King's Squad pass-out parade.

Bravo Zulu💚

Incredible achievement by local postman and former Royal Marine Shaun Marshall!

On 6 June, Shaun completed the gruelling Midnight Mountain Marathon Bergen Edition in the Brecon Beacons, covering 26.2 miles of rugged mountain terrain in an impressive 7 hours and 30 minutes, all while carrying a 35lb (16kg) bergen on his back.

A marathon with a twist. The course features over 3,500 feet of climbing and includes sections of the notorious Fan Dance route used during British Special Forces selection, including the demanding ascent of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales.

Raising funds for RMA Kidderminster and The Royal Marines Charity, Shaun has already smashed his fundraising target, raising over £500 to support serving and former Royal Marines and their families.

Reflecting on the challenge, Shaun said the D-Day anniversary was in his thoughts throughout the event, along with one of the Corps' enduring values: "Cheerfulness under adversity."

A hoofing effort and congratulations on an outstanding achievement and for supporting our mission! 👏

Last Thursday, we kicked off our first Commando Training Challenge of the year and what a day it was.

Led by the PTIs, participants took on the iconic Bottom Field Assault Course, pushed through a unique gym serial, refuelled with food from the infamous Field Kitchen, and finished the day with an awards presentation and BBQ in the exclusive Sergeants Mess.

Every person who took part dug deep and gave it everything, embodying the true commando values of courage, determination, unselfishness and cheerfulness in the face of adversity.

Together, the event raised an incredible £22,500 for the Royal Marines family - support that will make a real difference when it’s needed most.

Missed out this time? Don’t worry - our next challenge is on 24 September.

The very yomp that earned them their coveted beret almost 40 years ago was tackled again, this time with the green lid proudly on their heads.

8 former Bootnecks from 529 Troop successfully recompleted the Dartmoor 30-miler on 5th to the 6th of June. They have raised over £5,000 for the RMA-TRMC.

The team covered 18 miles from Okehampton to Princetown on Day 1, followed by 12 miles into Bickleigh Barracks on Day 2. Despite a yellow weather warning, heavy rain and 30 mph winds, spirits remained high as the conditions brought back memories of training on the moor in 1987.

On completion, the group was warmly welcomed to the Sergeants' Mess at 42 Commando for well-earned pasties and pints.

As the old saying goes: "Gore-Tex till Endex!"

No blueprint. No precedent. Embrace the unknown.

Four pioneers. One world-first mission.

Over the course of less than 14 days, the team will take on a challenge equivalent to 3.5 times the elevation of Everest, pushing the limits of endurance, resilience and human performance.

Starting at Tower Bridge in London, the team will cycle 1,500km across England, Belgium and France before taking on three of the most iconic and demanding Alpine summits:

⛰️ Matterhorn (4,478m)
⛰️ Eiger (3,970m)
⛰️ Mont Blanc (4,809m)

Led by former UK Special Forces operator Ollie Ollerton, alongside Mitch Hutchcraft (Former RM), Paul Simpson RM and Josh Rule, Bridge to Blanc is more than an expedition, it's a mission to inspire others to step beyond comfort and discover what's possible.
All in one continuous, fully self-supported effort.

No support vehicles. No shortcuts. No second chances.

Most importantly, funds raised will support three charities:
💙 The Royal Marines Charity
💙 Rock2Recovery
💙 SAVSIM

The mountains have been completed before. Though, this challenge is the first of it's kind.

Last Thursday, supporters of RMA-The Royal Marines Charity came together at Exeter Golf & Country Club for our WC100 Golf Day, enjoying a brilliant day of golf, camaraderie and fundraising.

Despite the competitive spirit on the course, the day was all about bringing people together in support of the Royal Marines family. From tee-off to the final putt, it was wonderful to see so many supporters, sponsors and friends of the charity taking part and helping to raise more than £10,000.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated prizes, sponsored the event and supported us throughout the day. Your generosity and commitment help us continue providing lifelong support to serving and former Royal Marines and their families.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did!

A huge thank you and congratulations to supporter Conrad Goss, who recently travelled to Bistrița, Romania, to take part in the Invictus Heroes Half Marathon event, where he completed the Cross 5K and helped raise awareness and funds for RMA-The Royal Marines Charity.

The event attracted a record-breaking 2,070 participants from across Europe and brought together serving personnel, veterans, dignitaries and communities united by the Invictus spirit of resilience, friendship and hope.

Representing the charity throughout the weekend, Conrad attended official engagements with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bistrița, spoke about the work of RMA-The Royal Marines Charity, presented the Mayor with his personal charity running vest, and proudly carried the RMA-TRMC flag during the event.

Conrad's efforts clearly left a lasting impression. Event Director Florin Boc described him as "a friend, a comrade, and a man who inspires us through his strength, resilience and determination."

Reflecting on the event, Conrad said he was humbled by the welcome he received and honoured to help raise awareness of the support available to the Royal Marines family.

Thank you, Conrad, for being such an incredible ambassador for the charity and for demonstrating that the bonds of friendship, service and camaraderie know no borders.

💚 Semper Fidelis.
