Would you like to learn some basic cooking skills?

If you find yourself having to prepare meals for the first time, our six-week cookery course teaches the basic skills of preparing vegetables, meat and fish to produce nutritious meals.

Increase your motivation to cook and learn valuable cooking skills and techniques alongside others in a friendly and safe environment, then enjoy together the meal you have created.

This six-week course starts on Tuesday the 29th of September.

Don’t forget that Local Hospice Lottery’s first ever Summer Super Draw will be taking place on 21st September and the LAST CHANCE to enter if you’re not already a weekly player is 14th September.

Get your tickets now! Be an audience member or an entertainer!

We are delighted to be part of this year's Voices for Hospice Choir event being held at Thornden Hall, Eastleigh on Sunday 20th September.

Join the event to sing - or watch - for a unique opportunity to be part of The Armed Man - a Mass for Peace performance. Conducted by John Sutton MBE, and accompanied by the VfH Sinfonia.

There is no need to prepare! Singers will be taught on the day.
- Rehearsals at 2pm and 7pm
- Performances at 3pm and 8pm

This fantastic event will be raising funds for eight Hampshire hospices, including Oakhaven! Come and visit us in the hospice village on the day!

Drop in and join us for our next Living Well Hub on Wednesday 9th September from 10am to 12.30pm at the Coates Centre.

If you are living with a life-limiting illness, caring for someone, or navigating grief or bereavement, your wellbeing remains a vital part of living well.

This drop-in session, organised by the Oakhaven Wellbeing team, will gather together important organisations to enable you to find relevant signposting and advice that you might require in order to live well.

Come along with any questions that you might have about paperwork, benefits, care, debt, disabilities, estate planning, illness support, carer support... and equally come along if you don't have any questions! You will be very welcome and will be able to find out information over a cup of tea or coffee...

The Living Well Hub is here for everyone in our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities - you don't need to be a patient or family already known to Oakhaven. It will be an opportunity to ask any questions that you might have, or to simply come along and find out what sort of support might be available to you in the community.

September is Write a Will Month.

We have teamed up with local solicitors and will writers, who will kindly waive their fees, donating their time and expertise to help you make or update your will when you make a donation to Oakhaven Hospice.

Life is full of milestones, such as house purchases, marriage, children... To ensure that your wishes remain current, your will should be updated.

If you die without a will (intestate), your estate is distributed according to strict government rules, which may not align with your actual wishes.

Join the The New Forest 10 Mile Race – raising funds for Oakhaven!

On Sunday 25th October, the New Forest Runners are holding The New Forest 10 Mile Race, starting and finishing at New Park, Brockenhurst. This is a lovely 10 mile mixed terrain race in the heart of the New Forest.

The race starts at 10am at New Park, Brockenhurst, SO42 7QH.

The last date for entries is Sunday 22nd October.

Join us for our next IT Café in the Coates Centre Hub - next session Friday 4th September between 10.30am - 12.00pm.
