STOP PRESS - Mileage expenses for volunteer drivers in the Social Car Scheme have been increased to 55p per mile to offset increased motoring costs.

Could you spare a few hours a week to help someone in our community get to an important appointment?
Lutterworth Community Transport is looking for volunteer drivers to join its Social Car Scheme — a vital local service helping people who are unable to use public transport or who have difficulty getting out and about independently.
For many passengers, the scheme is far more than just a lift. It provides independence, reassurance, and social connection. A trip to a hospital appointment, the GP or dentist can make a huge difference to someone who might otherwise feel isolated or unable to travel.
Volunteer drivers use their own cars and choose when they are available, making the role flexible and easy to fit around other commitments. Whether you can offer a few hours occasionally or more regular support, every journey helps.
Drivers often say they get just as much from the experience as the passengers do. The role offers the chance to meet interesting people, stay active in the community, and enjoy the satisfaction of making a genuine difference to someone’s day.
Mileage expenses are reimbursed, and full support is provided.
