RevoLuton is a community scale ‘learning by doing’ experience noted for enabling self creation of jobs and enterprise by and for large groups of unemployed people. Originally born in Brazil, the OW approach has succeeded in many different countries over 50 years, with the first ever UK OW happening now in Marsh Farm. The OW provides the tools and equipment needed to set up social enterprises for p
articipants, who must then get themselves properly organised to carry out work based learning contracts in the community (a process known as ‘capacitation’). This hands on, learning by doing experience quickly builds up the skills and knowledge needed to:
1.) Organise effectively as a large group.
2.) Bring wasted lands, buildings, skills and opportunities into productive use.
3.) Use these newly rejuvenated assets to set up sustainable community enterprises and create jobs.
