Our journey so far has been one of dedication, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference, and it is with great honour that we share an incredible milestone for Hangout Luton. We were awarded Community Project of the Year at the prestigious Love Luton Luton Best Awards, held on 17th January. In addition to this remarkable achievement, we were also highly commended in the same category at Community Interest Lutonโs Luton and Bedfordshire Community Awards, where one of our inspiring volunteers, Hanif was recognised as Role Model of the Year.
These accolades reflect the heart of our mission: tackling anti-social behaviour and social isolation among young people in Luton. Through innovative initiatives, we have positively impacted over 3,000 young people, with an ambitious goal to reach 7,000 more in the coming year.
Such recognition is not just a celebration of our achievements but a testament to the power of creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can grow, develop, and aspire to achieve more. Hangout Luton continues to play a key role in empowering the younger generation while fostering a more cohesive and connected community.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all nominees and winners at theses Awards. Each of you plays a vital role in improving our town, and your dedication inspires us all to keep striving for a brighter future.
We are immensely grateful to the local businesses, sponsors, funders, and the young people who have trusted in our vision and supported our work. Your belief in Hangout Luton has been fundamental to this success, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.
Hangout Luton exists to provide opportunities for young people to thrive in a safe and supportive environment. Our programmes address immediate challenges while encouraging long-term personal development, helping young people build the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
By removing barriers to participation, we create pathways into education, training, and employment through our Education Initiative - Skills Pad. This proactive approach not only combats social isolation but also strengthens community ties, fostering greater understanding and cooperation.
While these awards are a proud milestone, they also remind us of the work that still lies ahead. The challenges faced by young people and the wider community require ongoing effort and collaboration. At Hangout Luton, we remain committed to driving meaningful change and ensuring that every young person in Luton has the opportunity to thrive.
