Well done to all the organisers, the event was electric and the costumes were amazing!

We were definitely grateful to everyone who joined us to play some music and learn more about the work we do in our hometown, despite the heat! πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈπŸ₯΅

More photos of the carnival procession will follow this week. The gold theme for 50 years was wonderful! 🌟

Special thanks to Gail Dearing and our wonderful volunteers for their help today and fellow stall holders for helping build the much-needed gazebo.

It's Dementia Action Week.

Dementia affects thousands of families across Hertfordshire. Every single one of those stories is different.

Some people are newly diagnosed and don't know where to turn. Some are caring for a partner or parent and quietly running on empty. Some just need someone to talk to.

Whatever your situation, we're here. Memory Support Hertfordshire can help connect you with local support that actually makes a difference.

It's but we strive to improve the lives of the wonderful people we work with every day.

We provide a safe and important space for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers to experience moments of connection.

You can find out how to access our groups in Watford, Cheshunt, Luton & Stevenage here:

There is strong and growing evidence that music can benefit someone living with dementia. Music is a unique activity in that it requires the use of every part of your brain to engage with it. This means that for someone with dementia, where some parts of their brain may not function well anymore, there is still an opportunity to communicate and express themselves through music.

Music also has a powerful connection to memory – we all know how a special song can transport us back to a vivid moment in time. It can be a powerful tool to help someone with dementia β€˜come alive in the moment’ and make connections with family and friends.
