This is sadly a common sight around Luton. Advertising often promotes fast food and junk food, promoting unhealthy lifestyles, and prioritising profits for huge multinational corporations over people's health and wellbeing. Where are the adverts promoting ways to help people make affordable healthy meals at home? Or promoting local cafés, pubs and restaurants?

Over £150,000 of our money wasted!

Thanks to a freedom of information request, we now know that Luton Council have spent £155,932 of taxpayer's money on an advertising campaign to promote the airport expansion and their misleading petition. As well as physical advertising, this has been online and on the radio, and has even been seen on the London Underground.

Public displays about Luton's history get neglected and fall into disrepair. BT's new digital advertising spaces are in pristine condition beaming propaganda into our faces, and the supposed telephony features they have don't even work. Profit is put before people.
