Father's Day 🇬🇧💂♂️
He came home from the war one day,
But part of him stayed there.
In the dust, the noise, the loss,
In the weight he still must bear.
His children saw a hero's face,
A father brave and strong.
But they never saw the battles fought
In his mind all night long.
He'd smile and laugh around the table,
Tell stories, crack a joke.
Then sit awake when darkness fell,
Choking on memories and smoke.
Yet every day he got back up,
For the little hands he held.
A wounded man, a loving dad,
Trying hard to heal himself.
This Father's Day, remember him.
Not for the wars he fought before.
But for coming home and loving still,
When he wasn't sure he could anymore.
