Before setting off on our journey to serve and support our brothers and sisters in need, we were blessed to visit the **maqām (shrine)** of **Habib Ahmad bin Abu Bakr bin Sumayt**, the noble father of **Habib Umar bin Sumayt**, during the **100th anniversary (Hawl)** commemorating his passing. We sought blessings (barakah) and made duʿāʾ at this blessed place before embarking on our mission. May Allah have mercy on them both, elevate their ranks, sanctify their secrets, and allow us to benefit from their legacy of service, knowledge, and sincerity. آمين يا رب العالمين - Zanzibar - 2022

The conflict in Gaza has forged a generation defined by bereavement with over 64,000 children orphaned since 2023, many losing fathers, thousands losing both parents, and hundreds remaining as the only living members of their lineage.

The social fabric is torn.

This reality is not an accident of nature, but the calculated result of persistent military strikes on residential spaces and civil infrastructure.

Now, these survivors face a secondary battle: staying alive in a landscape stripped of orphanages, social services, and economic stability.
