Today should be a day of joy and reflection as we celebrate Children’s Day and the Salah season in Nigeria, but instead, our hearts are incredibly heavy. 💔

It is absolutely heartbreaking that while others celebrate, 40 innocent children and their teachers are being forced to spend Children's Day and Salah in the hands of kidnappers. It has been 13 agonizing days since they were abducted, and we cannot sit by and let this become another Chibok girls tragedy.

Our people are suffering—who will step up and rescue Yorubaland from this ongoing nightmare? We demand action, security, and the safe, immediate return of these children and educators. They deserve to be in classrooms and celebrating these special days with their families, not held in captivity. 🙏🏾🇳🇬

In Nigeria, any politician connected to kidnapping, illegal extortion, or sponsoring criminal activities should be thoroughly investigated, prosecuted according to the law, and if found guilty, imprisoned.

No position, power, or political influence should place anyone above justice.

A nation can only progress when leaders are held accountable and the rule of law applies equally to everyone.

POLICE SERGEANT SENTENCED TO DEATH OVER TORTURE & KILLING OF SUSPECT IN AKWA IBOM ⚖️🇳🇬

The Akwa Ibom State High Court has reportedly sentenced a police officer, Sgt. Goodnews Akpan, to death by hanging for the torture and killing of a suspect while serving with the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Uyo.

According to reports, the suspect was allegedly being investigated for a bailable offence before dying in police custody.

This case has once again sparked national conversations about:
⚖️ Police brutality
⚖️ Abuse of power
⚖️ Human rights violations
⚖️ Accountability in Nigeria’s justice system

Under Nigerian law, every citizen — including suspects — has constitutional rights and must be treated lawfully until proven guilty by a competent court.
