Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were tasked today at 15:04 by Police Scotland at the request of the Scottish Ambulance Service to assist with reports of a male who had fallen on the shoreline at Cashel Campsite and was unconscious.
Our volunteer crew launched immediately and, once on scene, began an assessment of the male casualty who had fallen whilst walking on the shoreline, striking a rock and subsequently losing consciousness.
Following sets of observations & assessment by our crew, the casualty was administered pain relief for lower back pain.
Due to the location, it was deemed most appropriate to evacuate the casualty by boat back to Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway, where he was handed over to Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues for onward transport to hospital.
Many thanks to the bystanders at the campsite for calling 999, keeping the casualty warm, and remaining with him until help arrived.
