The date for the next branch event, Clare Hill on regenerative farming, is the Thursday the 9th of April, 7.30pm at the Mascall Centre Ludlow
I have been asked "What is regenerative farming" , please come along to what will be a very interesting and important evening led by a very knowledgeable speaker, discussions should be good, lots to learn much to think about.
The dictionary definition is a regenerative farmer is a land manager who focuses on improving soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience rather than just maintaining production. By working with nature—using methods like no-till, cover cropping, and rotational grazing—they aim to actively regenerate soil, improve water retention, and capture atmospheric carbon, often moving away from heavy synthetic fertilizer or pesticide use.
I would also like to thank Lucy Grove for an excellent talk on hedging which covered all types of hedging and farming. I valued her balanced approach in helping in all types of situations with some excellent results for nature and the farmers. I also congratulate the C.P.R.E for their important work for nature which must be well over 40years, I can remember having there support for schemes during that time.
We are blest with having Clare and Lucy so local to us.
