You can’t always see a disability

Families with disabled children need support, not stigma.

Recent media coverage has questioned whether disabled children receive too much financial support. We’re setting the record straight about Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

💚 Eligibility is based on a child’s extra care or mobility needs. A diagnosis does not automatically qualify a child for DLA.
💚 DLA helps with the additional costs of disability, which families face whether parents work or not.
💚 Awards vary according to a child’s needs. Headlines focusing on the maximum payment don’t tell the whole story.
