Community Bookshelf– Charity Partner Announcement 👼🏼🪽

We’re delighted to announce that this month’s Community Bookshelf Funds will be donated to Angels and Rainbows Baby Loss Support Group, a charity dedicated to supporting families affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

Angels & Rainbows provides compassionate support, understanding, and a safe community for parents and families navigating the heartbreak of losing a baby during pregnancy, at birth, or in infancy. Their work helps ensure that no family has to face their grief alone, offering comfort, resources, and opportunities for remembrance during some of life’s most difficult moments.

We are honoured to support their mission through this month’s Community Bookshelf Funds. Every donation made by our community helps extend the reach of organisations like Angels & Rainbows, allowing them to continue providing vital support and developing projects that make a meaningful difference to bereaved families.

If you'd like to help us support this incredible cause, why not visit our Community Bookshelf on your next trip? Located by the exit, the bookshelf is filled with pre-loved books looking for a new home. You can either donate books you no longer need or make a small donation and take home a new read. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps us raise funds for Angels & Rainbows and opens up new opportunities.

EXCITING NEWS 🎉

Tesco Lowestoft is pleased to announce we are now working closely with Lound Hall Nursing Home!!

Myself and Tesco Great Yarmouth Community champion Danielle spent the day working together, doing what we love most – supporting our local community and building new connections.

We had the pleasure of visiting Lound Hall Nursing Home, where we donated plant bulbs and seeds to help contribute towards their beautiful Zen garden project.

It was wonderful to meet some of the residents and staff and hear about the fantastic work that takes place every day. The Zen garden will provide a peaceful outdoor space for residents to enjoy, relax, and spend time together, and we’re delighted to play a small part in helping bring that vision to life.

Danielle has officially handed over the reins to myself, and I’m excited to continue building our relationship with Lound Hall Nursing Home moving forward.

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Tesco, and we’re proud to be working alongside such a wonderful local care home. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where this partnership takes us.

For now, I’d like to give a huge welcome to Lound Hall Nursing Home as the newest members of our community family 🤍

CALLING ALL CHARITIES & COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS 📣

We’re looking for local charities, community groups, and non-profit organisations that could benefit from a little extra support.

Starting this June, our Community Bookshelf will be donating the funds raised each month to a different charity or organisation. Through book donations and sales, we’ll be helping worthy causes make an even bigger difference in our community.

If your organisation is making a difference and could put additional funding to good use, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re supporting people, animals, the environment, education, wellbeing, or any other worthwhile cause, we welcome applications and nominations.

How to apply:
Simply send us a brief introduction to your organisation, tell us about the work you do, and explain how the funds raised could help make a difference.

A new charity or organisation will be selected each month, giving multiple groups the opportunity to benefit throughout the year

This April–July, we’re proud to support three incredible local projects:

🏃 Catch22 LTD – Keeping young people active, engaged, and connected through community multi-sports activities.

🌳 Gunton Primary Academy PSFA– Developing a new Forest School area to support children’s wellbeing, outdoor learning, and healthy lifestyles.

⚓️ Lowestoft Maritime Museum– Creating an inclusive audio guide system to make museum exhibits more accessible for all visitors.

Every blue token helps these projects move one step closer to their goals.

Tesco would like to say a massive thank you to all our customers for their generous donations and contributions to The Salvation Army Lowestoft Christmas present appeal, via donating a toy to our ‘give a toy this Christmas’ trolley in-store. DONATE A TOY THIS CHRISTMAS 🤶🏼🎄

A few weeks ago, we launched our ‘give a toy this Christmas’ campaign. This year we are supporting The Salvation Army Lowestoft with their Christmas present appeal.

We are asking if our customers can come together by donating a toy this Christmas. All donations are welcome, however big or small and must be purchased from Tesco.

The donation trolley is located at the front of the store, by the entrance.
