We’re proud to share a closer look at the Bonplandia Programme 2026, an educational initiative supported by Kingsley Philanthropy 🌱

Delivered in the rural town of Pijao, Colombia, the programme introduces children to plant biology through hands-on learning in our dedicated laboratories built in 2025. By exploring plants, gardens, medicine and traditional knowledge, students gain a deeper understanding of nature and the role it plays in their culture and environment.

Led by a team of passionate biology teachers, Bonplandia focuses on several key learning areas designed to build scientific curiosity, environmental awareness and practical skills from an early age.

We are incredibly proud to support this programme and the opportunities it creates for young and we look forward to welcoming our 2026 students very soon 🌿✨

We’ve officially signed an agreement with The King's Trust to help young people overcome barriers into employment, with an initial focus on Liverpool and Manchester.

Through the Get Started and Get Hired programmes, this partnership will support young people to build confidence, strengthen skills and access real job opportunities. From CV writing and interview preparation to recruitment events and in-work support, the goal is simple: sustainable employment and long-term success.

By connecting emerging talent with meaningful opportunities in health and social care, we’re investing in both young people and the future workforce. This is the start of a focused, long-term collaboration designed to create real pathways into work.

The Kingsley Foundation exists for one simple reason, to stand beside people when they need support most 🤍

As a UK-based charity, we provide help to current and former Kingsley Healthcare employees facing hardship or difficult life events. Caring for our own has always been part of who we are.

Beyond this, we proudly support specialist partners tackling vital issues, from supporting victims of modern slavery, to strengthening veterans’ mental health, promoting contemporary art, and helping young adults build sustainable careers.

Through every partnership and every act of support, the Foundation turns our values into action - for individuals, for communities, and for the future.

Some stories stay with you 🤍

Esteban first joined us as a scholarship student in Colombia, full of potential, kindness and a desire to give back. Over the years, it has been a privilege to support his journey and watch him grow into someone who gives just as much as he receives.

Beyond his studies, he became a dedicated medical volunteer in the Pijao community, offering health check-ups and care to local elders. His compassion helped shine a light on hidden needs, leading to ongoing monthly food support for elderly residents facing malnutrition and health challenges.

Now, as he moves into the next chapter of his life, we feel nothing but pride. Stories like his remind us that impact is not just measured in programmes, but in people.

We wish him every success for the future and thank him for the difference he has made in the lives of others 🌟🤍

We were proud to celebrate Pongal with our team and local students, marking one of the most meaningful festivals in the Tamil calendar 🌾☀️

Widely celebrated across Northern Sri Lanka, Pongal is a harvest thanksgiving rooted in gratitude, honouring the sun, the land, nature and the animals that support farming. Observed during the Tamil month of Thai, the festival reflects deep cultural traditions centred around home, community and heritage.

Our office celebration brought staff and students together to share in these traditions, creating a warm and meaningful moment of cultural connection. Celebrating festivals like Pongal helps keep heritage alive while strengthening the communities we serve ✨

Students recently stepped into the lab for hands-on GCE O/L Science practical classes held on 14th January at the laboratory of Siththivinayagar School, Point Pedro, Sri Lanka. 🔬✨

Delivered by the Velummayilum Foundation, the session gave students the opportunity to move beyond theory and experience real practical science, strengthening understanding, building confidence and supporting exam readiness.

Access to hands-on learning is vital in shaping curiosity, capability and future opportunity. Initiatives like this help ensure students are equipped not just with knowledge, but with the confidence to succeed 🌱📚

We’re incredibly proud to support 12-year-old Lauren Potter as she begins her journey to represent the 14th Lowestoft Scout Group at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk, Poland, in 2027 🌍✨

To help kickstart her £3,400 fundraising target, Kingsley Healthcare donated £300 at Benjamin Britten Academy of Music and Mathematics in Lowestoft, the town where our organisation began 27 years ago and a community that still means so much to us 💙

Lauren, whose father is a Scout leader and whose brother George attended the 2023 Jamboree in Korea 🇰🇷, will join fellow Scouts from her group on this once-in-a-lifetime international experience 🌎🤝 The Jamboree brings together young people from across the world to share cultures, build friendships and develop leadership skills that last a lifetime ⭐

This continues our ongoing relationship with the school. In 2022, we supported Lauren’s brother George and fellow Benjamin Britten student Charlotte Sykes with similar donations to help them attend the Jamboree 🙌 In 2024, we also provided a £500 donation so every student at the academy — located in an area of social deprivation, could receive an Easter egg 🐣💛

Supporting young people, championing opportunity and investing in our local community is at the heart of what we do. We wish Lauren every success as she prepares to represent Suffolk Scouts on the global stage 🚀🌟

We recently supported 9 pregnant mothers and newborn babies with essential care items and supplies 🤍👶

In the communities we serve, many families face financial hardship, making early parenthood even more challenging. That’s why we believe it is our responsibility to stand alongside young mothers during this demanding and life-changing chapter.

Through initiatives like this, we aim to provide practical support, reassurance and dignity at a time when it matters most. Because every child deserves a strong start in life 🌱✨

Students at Instituto Pijao recently took part in hands-on cultivation and seedling classes through the Tierra Program 🌱

The sessions covered basic planting techniques, seedling care and garden maintenance, building practical skills while strengthening understanding sustainability and food security.

In Colombia, plants are deeply woven into cultural identity: spiritually, medicinally, economically and environmentally. As one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, nature is not just landscape; it is part of daily life and ancestral knowledge. Teaching children to work with plants from an early age protects that heritage and keeps vital knowledge alive.

Through Kingsley Philanthropy, we are proud to support programmes that empower young people with scientific understanding, confidence and a meaningful connection to the natural world.
