New Project for Caps of Courage Volunteers!
Following requests from some of the UK's leading children's cancer hospitals, we are now collecting handmade PICC Line Covers for children and young people undergoing treatment.
These simple but effective covers help to protect and conceal PICC lines while adding comfort and confidence for the young person wearing them.
The good news is they are perfect for using up fabric scraps!
**Suggested fabrics:**
• Soft jersey
• Lycra
• Stretch cotton fabrics
**Construction:**
• Sewn as a simple tube
• Seam at each end
• Widths from 12cm to 20cm
• Short version: 15cm long
• Long version: 25cm long
Bright colours, fun prints, superheroes, animals, rainbows and teenage-friendly designs are all welcome.
This is a fantastic project for anyone with smaller pieces of fabric looking to create something that can make a real difference to a child receiving treatment.
If you would like the pattern, please check the volunteer files or contact the Caps of Courage team. They are just rectangles, but I will upload something in the next few days.
Thank you for helping us continue to provide comfort, confidence and care to children and young people across the UK.
