Don't miss out on this year the Regimental Gathering, which will be bigger and better with lots to do all day and evening. Taking place at Kendrew Barracks, home to the 1st and 2nd Battalions of our Regiment.

Taking place on Saturday 12 September and see the return of the Drumhead service and the inclusion of an all ranks event into the evening. There is plenty for the family to do throughout the day and dogs are also welcome! Transport will be provided for certain areas and this can be discussed with your association leads.

This year is also a very poignant year as it marks the 20th Anniversary of Operation TELIC 8 and the 40th anniversary of a particularly busy year in Northern Ireland. Both years came at a cost of 5 of our soldiers.

We are extremely keen to get people together to remember our fallen from both years. See the fill detail on our website and how to register to attend. https://www.royalanglianregiment.com/news/regimental-gathering-2026/

More than a place to stay — a place to belong 🏡💙

At Kitcheners Lowestoft, we're proud to be home to Lowestoft's Veterans & Blue Light Breakfast Club — a gathering that's grown into something really special. Seeing the connections and friendships formed here is exactly why we do what we do.

We welcome veterans and serving personnel from right across the country, not just locally. With accommodation on site, it's the perfect chance to combine a relaxing break by the Suffolk coast with the warmth of a genuinely supportive community.

Fancy joining a veterans meet-up, connecting with others who understand, or just fancy some well-earned time by the sea? We'd love to hear from you. 🌊

The Kitchener’s Annual Ball Is Getting Closer

The summer is coming to an end, and before long it will be time for The Kitchener’s Annual Ball once again.

Last year was an incredible success, with an amazing £6,242 raised through the event.

This year, we’re hoping to go even further and raise even more to support the work of Kitchener’s.

We’re currently looking for sponsors for this year’s ball, so if you’re a local business or organisation and would like to support the event, we’d love to hear from you.

Your support can make a real difference, and we’d love to have you involved.

Could you help us make this year’s ball our biggest yet?

The People Behind Kitchener’s

Recently at Kitchener’s, we sat down with Richie, a veteran and dedicated volunteer who gives his time to support Kitchener’s through our Veterans Breakfast Club and ongoing fundraising efforts.

Richie shared his story, his experiences and what Kitchener’s means to him.

It’s conversations and stories like Richie’s that really highlight why community, connection and support are so important to veterans and serving personnel. 🇬🇧

If you're a veteran or currently serving member of the Armed Forces in Lowestoft or the surrounding area, we'd love to welcome you to Kitchener’s.

🏠 We offer discounted stays at our guest house for veterans, serving personnel and their families.

🍳 Our Veterans Breakfast Club takes place on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, and everyone is made very welcome.

Come along, meet some new people, have a chat and enjoy some good company.

Everyone Has a Story

Behind every veteran is a story, and at Lord Kitchener’s Guest House, those stories are shared, heard and valued.

At a recent breakfast club meeting, we had the opportunity to hear Lorraine talk about her experiences with Lord Kitchener’s and the difference being part of this community has made in her life.

It’s a reminder that Lord Kitchener’s is about so much more than a place to meet. It’s a community built around friendship, support and connection, helping those who have served – and those still serving – feel welcome and supported.

If you’re a veteran, currently serving, or a family member of a veteran, in the Lowestoft area, why not come along and meet the team? You’ll find a warm welcome and a community that understands.
