Adam Outreach Project Ltd

Adam Outreach Project Ltd Adam Outreach Project provides specialist housing and support offering a unique pathway to recovery. Adam Outreach Project was established in 2006.

Hope house began in 2008 and has seen gone through radical changes over the service and support we offer. Hope House was and continues to offer specialist housing for those who are experiencing homelessness. We provide a safe, holistic-environment, for adult men who are willing to abstain from substances or alcohol. Our premises are Drug and Alcohol free. We also offer interventions for those w

ho may still need support and who are suffering with substance abuse or alcoholism. The methodology we use is underpinned by the 12 Step program which is a part of our ethos in the support we offer . However it is our Christian faith and values what motivates us to serve and carry the good news of the gospel. We support our residents further by encouraging those who need extra support to attend and engage with the 12 step community. We sign post to support networks such as AA/CA/NA which has proven to be revolutionary and is a unique way that contributes towards a transformative process of change. The 12 step program and support groups helps contribute to those who have felt isolated and socially excluded to being part of the recovery community and reconnecting to life once again . It is not a one size fits all, so we tailor our support by a person centred approach, carefully reviewing each individuals specific needs. Over the years Adam Outreach Project have undergone various changes, developing new strategies to best tailor the ideal support for the residents. We provide 15 bedrooms, two sitting rooms, a computer room, a spacious dining room, a quiet room which is used for a daily devotion room where the men are encouraged to open up and begin a step into faith in prayer, also receiving a one to one key-working session. We have 2 kitchens, 4 baths/shower rooms (6 toilets). We also have a smoking shelter and a garden which is maintained by the residents who share various cleaning duties around the 2 houses. All of our staff, trustees and volunteers are Christian , through the service and Love into action, we encourage all residents to surrender from their old lives , most importantly begin to know that God has a unique plan for each and everyone of the residents by believing that recovery/change is possible one day at a time. Some of the support we offer ranges from accompanying residents to probation-appointments, doctors and hospital appointments , also transportation to outstanding court cases or helping with debt management. The project also helps with setting up bank accounts or in obtaining personal I.D. The projects aim is to empower our service users who seek to make healthier life decisions and to take personal responsibility for their own actions, thus becoming a productive member of society enabling a staged return to independent living free of all mind altering substances. The project works closely with the men through one to one key works, setting achievable goals and establishing current issues that the residents are encouraged to work through. Hope House has supported and provided accommodation to over 400 adult men and we will continue to provide the amazing support for those who are socially excluded in or outside of our community. We can offer resettlement for ex-prisoners when appropriate and supported by a successful risk assessment and work with rehabs and other various government bodies.

Adam Outreach Project offers specialist housing and addiction interventions that help break the chains of chronic substance misuse.

Recovery is more than just stopping. It is rebuilding. It is healing. It is learning how to live again.

At Hope House, we provide a specialist residential rehabilitation service for those taking the brave first steps into recovery. As our primary stage facility, Hope House offers a safe, structured, abstinence-based environment where lives can begin to stabilise, hope can be restored, and real transformation can start.

From Hope House, residents can move into Grace House, our secondary stage facility, designed for those who are stable in their recovery and ready for the next chapter. Grace House supports people as they continue to grow in confidence, responsibility, and independence while staying firmly grounded in their recovery journey.

Across both homes, we underpin and deliver the 12-Step programme, alongside development groups, life coaching, key work, one-to-one support, and professional counselling sessions. Every person is seen, valued, and supported as an individual.

This is not just about staying abstinent. This is about helping people rediscover purpose, rebuild identity, and move forward into employment, education, and independent living.

Real recovery takes time. It takes support. It takes community. And over the course of one to two years, we walk alongside people as they move from survival to stability, and from stability to a life filled with possibility and purpose.

Because recovery is possible.Because people can change.Because every life matters.
Because Jesus is a waymaker.
Because Jesus is a miracle worker.

Today our senior management team had the privilege of visiting Drayton Hall Teen Challenge, part of the UK and Global Teen Challenge Ministries. We were warmly welcomed by Martin and the team, who continue to lead a truly impactful and compassionate Christian rehabilitation programme. 🤝✝️

As a registered charity, Teen Challenge supports men facing life-controlling challenges, particularly drug and alcohol addiction, offering not just recovery but a renewed identity, purpose, and hope.

The facility itself is remarkable—featuring a fully equipped gym, dedicated worship and prayer spaces, 25-bed accommodation, and a structured four-stage programme designed to support long-term transformation.

What stood out most was the shared ethos and heart for supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. It’s encouraging to connect with organisations who carry such aligned values and purpose.

Facilities like this are becoming increasingly rare, which makes it all the more important that we continue to support, connect, and strengthen one another in these pressing times. We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship together.

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens through strong partnerships.

Today the Harmony House team from the Adam Outreach Project had the privilege of visiting Abbington House. 🏡

Abbington House is a 15-20 bed, fully established private residential detox and rehabilitation service, supporting individuals at a crucial stage of their recovery journey.🤝

Their work in stabilising and supporting people through pre-detox and post- detox is vital, and we are grateful to collaborate with them to ensure continuity of care as individuals move into longer-term recovery support if needed.

It was especially encouraging to see one of our service users from our secondary move-on facility now working at Abbington House as a support worker while training to become a counsellor—a powerful reminder of what recovery can lead to when the right support and structure are in place.

Investing in people is where it truly matters, and both our organisations share the same heart and vision in the work we do.

Below are members of our Harmony House senior management team, Ricky and Louise, alongside the leadership team at Abbington House:

Greg Georghiou – Founder / CEO
Michael Williams – Treatment Manager
Tony Rapacioli – Chief Operating Officer
Michael Garnham – Admissions Director

Thank you to the whole team for the warm welcome and for the incredible work you do. Partnerships like this truly make a difference.

📺 Featured on BBC Look East – 6:30pm Yesterday

Yesterday afternoon, our General Manager appeared on BBC Look East at 6:30pm, reporting from our office along Kirkley Road in response to the tragic news surrounding Access Community Trust and the ripple effects this has had on frontline staff, their families, and the service users who depend so heavily on these vital services.

Our hearts truly go out to everyone affected. When community hubs close their doors, it impacts far more than a building — it affects livelihoods, stability, recovery journeys, and hope. We understand just how important it is to keep doors open for those who need them most.

As a charity that has been operating for nearly 20 years, we know the vital importance of sustainability and ensuring people are not displaced — whether that’s frontline workers or individuals accessing essential support.

There is support moving forward, and we want to be part of the solution.
If we can assist in any way — through partnership discussions, supporting ongoing projects, or conversations around vital resources such as Sam’s CAFE — we are open and willing to help. Collaboration is crucial in times like this.

Please watch the short clip of our General Manager speaking. 🎥

Together, we stand for stability, sustainability, and keeping doors open for our community.

📢 Tune in at 10:20am – BBC Look East
This morning, our General Manager will be speaking live on BBC Suffolk – Look East at 10:20am regarding the deeply concerning news that Access Community Trust is closing.

Our hearts go out to the residents, staff and volunteers affected by this news. Situations like this create real uncertainty — especially for those who have already experienced homelessness or vulnerability. Stability is absolutely crucial for people rebuilding their lives.

During the interview, our General Manager will be sharing our concern for those impacted and emphasising the importance of partnership working across Suffolk to ensure that no one falls through the gaps at such a difficult time.

Please tune in to listen and stand with the wider community as we support those affected.

Addiction doesn’t stop at the prison gate.
Sometimes, it gets worse.

Prison doesn’t automatically fix substance misuse. Drugs still circulate. But the deeper issue isn’t availability — it’s pain. Isolation. Shame. Trauma. Mental health struggles that were there long before the sentence.

Addiction thrives in silence and stagnation. Prison can be both.
Then comes release — the most dangerous moment of all.
Tolerance has dropped. Support is fragile. Reality hits hard. The weeks after release carry some of the highest risks of drug-related deaths — not because people want to die, but because the old dose becomes fatal and the safety net disappears.

But here’s what we don’t say enough:
Prison can also be the interruption.
The circuit breaker.
The moment recovery begins.
Recovery wings work.
Peer mentors matter.
Family connections anchor change.
Purpose changes everything.
If custody is only containment, addiction deepens in the shadows.

If custody becomes intervention, rehabilitation becomes possible.
And that’s exactly why places like Adam Outreach Project exist.
To bridge the gap.
To move toward the people society often moves away from.
Those leaving custody are not just “offenders.” Many are living with undiagnosed mental health challenges alongside addiction — often rooted in childhood trauma and years of failed interventions.

If we only see the behaviour, we miss the person.
And seeing the person is where recovery begins.

Adam Outreach Project provides specialist housing within a holistic recovery framework — a safe space to stabilise, rebuild identity, and rediscover purpose. A place where compassion replaces condemnation. Where lived experience informs support. Where recovery is cultivated, not just expected.
This is how cycles are broken.
Intentionally.
Collaboratively.
Sustainably.
The question isn’t whether change is possible.
It’s whether we’re brave enough to build pathways that truly support it.🤝

🌊 Important update – BBC coverage taking place tomorrow morning 🌊

Tomorrow morning, Adam Outreach Project will be working with a BBC News reporter from BBC Suffolk Radio and BBC Look East to capture a story highlighting homelessness and addiction support in Suffolk.

The BBC have recognised Adam Outreach Project as an organisation that stands out for its frontline work. The coverage will focus on a recent intervention where the project helped a man sleeping rough in freezing conditions who was close to death, securing emergency accommodation and ongoing support.

With informed consent, his experience will be shared through a written statement. He has chosen not to be filmed or seen, as he is still feeling vulnerable and not ready for public exposure — a decision that is fully respected.

There will be no on-camera interview. The filming will focus on environment and context, capturing the harsh conditions faced by people sleeping rough, rather than individuals.

The recording is taking place very early tomorrow morning, meeting the reporter at 6:50am and filming from 7:15am, by the beach, to reflect the cold and exposure many people endure.

The piece is expected to be aired on BBC Suffolk Radio, with the potential to feature on BBC Look East. We will share the link once it becomes available.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, pray, give, and stand with us. Please keep those who are sleeping rough tonight in your thoughts 🤍

Love in Action.❤️🤝

We want to share the reality of someone else’s desperation right now, and why it’s so important that we don’t become complacent in our own recovery.

Today we received a phone call about a young man—he’s only 24 years old. He had been living in a tent near some woods. When someone found him, his legs were purple from the cold. He was freezing.
He’s had a mental breakdown, gone through a painful breakup over Christmas, lost his job, and spiralled into drugs and alcohol.

Right now, he’s three days sober. Three days sober—alone, in a tent, in winter.
A man passing by found him and knew he wasn’t okay. Today, we’ve been able to get him out of the cold and place him into a hotel—somewhere warm and safe—for the next few days.

On Monday, we’ll sit down with him and do an interview, and all being well, by Wednesday we’ll have a room ready for him—one that’s currently being done up—so he can move into something safe, stable, and dignified.
This is love in action.
Not just words, but action.

Loving your neighbour when it costs something, when it’s inconvenient, and when it’s messy.

This is what it’s all about—meeting people at their lowest and saying, you’re not on your own anymore.

It’s hard. It’s heavy. But it’s the grim reality of homelessness and addiction.

Moments like this remind us how blessed we are and put everything into perspective.
