🏆 Who’s the person who makes your Shed what it is?
Last year, Robert Taylor from Medway men in sheds was named Shedder of the Year.
Registered blind and living with significant health challenges, Rob first found his Shed when he needed connection and support himself. Over time, he became one of the people others could rely on.
From research, fundraising and admin to checking in on members, mentoring others and simply being there when someone needs him, Rob’s contribution reaches into almost every part of Shed life.
Chances are, there’s a Rob in your Shed too.
Someone who quietly goes above and beyond. Who notices when someone hasn’t turned up. Who shares their skills, keeps things moving, makes the tea, sorts the problem or makes sure everyone feels welcome.
This is your chance to make sure their contribution doesn’t go unnoticed.
Nominations for Shedder of the Year are open as part of the UK Men’s Sheds Awards 2026 – alongside awards celebrating Community Projects, Partnerships, Health and Wellbeing, the Armed Forces community, Green Sheds, Heritage & History and more.
So whether there’s a brilliant Shedder who deserves a thank you, or a project your whole Shed is proud of, tell us about it.
⏰ Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 27 September.
