🎾 Next Run the Rec 🎾

We're back on **Sunday 5th July** for our next Run the Rec and this month's theme is... **Wimbledon!**

If you'd like to join in, feel free to dust off your retro tennis outfit, channel your inner McEnroe with a headband, or even come dressed as a tennis ball if you're feeling particularly adventurous 🎾

As always, dressing up is completely optional.

📅 Sunday 5th July
📍 Lower Kingswood Recreation Ground
🕘 Kids' 1k at 9:00am
🕘 Main run at 9:15am

Walk, jog or run. All ages and abilities are welcome.

There may even be some strawberries and cream waiting afterwards... 🍓

So grab your friends, family, neighbours and doubles partner, and join us for a Wimbledon themed morning at the Rec.

And remember, you don't need to run to be part of Run the Rec. If you ever fancy helping out one month, just let us know 👋

💚 Another brilliant morning at Run the Rec

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our summer themed Run the Rec ☀️

It was great to see so many bright and colourful tops out on the course, along with another fantastic turnout of runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities.

What makes Run the Rec special is that there is no pressure. Some people complete all three laps, some do one, some walk, some run. Everyone is welcome and everyone is part of the community.

A special thank you to GAIL's for once again kindly donating some delicious treats for everyone to enjoy after the run. Your support is hugely appreciated and always goes down a storm with our runners and volunteers 👏

Thank you as well to everyone who helps make Run the Rec happen each month, from our volunteers and marshals to those who simply turn up and bring such a positive atmosphere.

We can't wait to do it all again next month 💚

💚 The Run the Rec 1k

One of our favourite parts of every Run the Rec is seeing so many children getting involved.

Whether they ran, jogged, walked, skipped or sprinted, every single one of them did brilliantly this morning 👏

It was fantastic to see such a great turnout for the 1k and even better to see so many smiling faces crossing the finish line.

From first timers to regular Run the Rec veterans, we're proud of every child who took part.

The bright summer colours certainly helped make it a memorable morning too ☀️🌈

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, family members and supporters who came along and cheered them on.

We can't wait to see everyone back at Run the Rec this Sunday 👋

This month we're celebrating summer, so if you'd like to join in, dig out your brightest, boldest running top and add a bit of colour to the morning ☀️

As always, it's completely optional.

Whether you're running, jogging, walking, or just coming along for a chat and a coffee afterwards, you're very welcome.

Just a reminder that this month's run is taking place one week later than usual.

Fresh air, friendly faces and hopefully a bit of sunshine. What better way to start a Sunday morning? 💚

🌳We all love living in Lower Kingswood village, but recently, we’ve noticed a bit of extra litter around our streets, paths and green spaces.

Let’s get together, take pride in our beautiful village and spruce it up a bit!

We’re hosting our next friendly, community-wide litter pick and we’d love for you to join us. It’s a fantastic way to get some fresh air, meet your neighbours and do something great for our environment.

🌳Meeting Point: Pavilion, Kingswood Recreation Ground

What to bring:Just yourselves! We will have a supply of litter pickers, high-vis vests and rubbish bags available. If you have your own gardening gloves, feel free to bring them along.

Just a reminder that our next Run the Rec will be taking place on:

📅 Sunday 14th June

Please note this is one week later than usual, as a few of the organising team are away on the first Sunday of the month.

💚 Important Run the Rec Update

Just a quick heads up that our June Run the Rec will be moving from the first Sunday of the month to the second Sunday.

So instead of Sunday 7th June, the next run will now take place on:

📅 Sunday 14th June

A few of the organising team are away on the original date, so we’ve made the decision to move it back by one week.

Sorry for any inconvenience, and everything will return to normal after this month.

If you know anyone who regularly attends but isn’t on social media, we’d really appreciate you helping spread the word so nobody turns up on the wrong Sunday 👋
