Some great news to bring you all.

We are very excited to continue our partnership with East Lindsey District Council and continue to build a strong community service.

We are pleased to provide an update on the continued progress regarding the future operation of the Seaview Colonnade in Sutton on Sea.

The Council is working closely with its partners at Magna Vitae on plans for the organisation to take on management of the facility from late May. This new arrangement will build on the existing offer and introduce a vibrant programme of high quality events, exhibitions, and activities for both residents and visitors.

Magna Vitae brings extensive experience in operating cultural and leisure facilities and in delivering unique cultural programming, including the renowned SO Festival. We believe that this partnership will enable the Seaview Colonnade to reach its full potential and strengthen its position as an Arts Council England designated creative hub for the years ahead.

The already popular food and drink offer from Seven Districts Coffee will continue, with Magna Vitae working closely with them to ensure it remains available for visitors.

Further details, including handover dates and the upcoming programme of activity, will be shared once arrangements are finalised. Thank you for your continued support of Seaview Colonnade.

Today, our team had a fantastic training opportunity!

We were joined by Marc from Training 2 Care UK Ltd , who delivered two Virtual Dementia Experience workshops.

Unlike many other training sessions, this workshop encouraged participants to truly step into the shoes of someone living with dementia. The Virtual Dementia Bus recreates what it can feel like to live with mid-level dementia and experience multiple symptoms. This immersive experience helped our team better understand why people with dementia may behave the way they do. And once we understand the “why,” we are better equipped to offer the right support.

We would highly recommend this experience to other organisations!

Meet John. ⭐

After knee surgery and being told he might not play badminton again, John gave rowing a try - and hasn’t looked back. In just a year, he’s taken part in a worldwide rowing challenge, finished 62nd out of 75,000 competitors and clocked up over three million metres. His motivation isn’t about competing with others - it’s about seeing what he can do next and encouraging others!

Leisure Centres Update - 9th January 2025

Following a competitive tender process, the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership has appointed Parkwood Leisure as the future operator of its leisure centres from 1 October 2027.

For now, nothing is changing. Magna Vitae will continue to run all leisure centres as normal, with the same friendly teams, high standards, and positive community impact that customers know and trust.

Over the coming years, Magna Vitae will work closely with East Lindsey District Council and Parkwood Leisure to make sure the transition is carefully planned and smooth, keeping customers, staff, and communities at the heart of every step.

We also want to reassure you that minimal change is expected to the existing staffing and operations across the facilities, so you’ll continue to see familiar faces and receive the same great service.

From October 2027, Parkwood Leisure will operate:

· Meridian Leisure Centre

· Skegness Swimming Pool & Fitness Suite

· Horncastle Swimming Pool & Fitness Suite

· Station Leisure & Learning Centre

Founded in 1995, Parkwood Leisure is one of the most experienced providers of leisure management provision in the UK, running around 80 leisure facilities on behalf of local authorities throughout England and Wales with a mission to create and maintain sustainable, lasting partnerships which help build happier and healthier local communities.

Magna Vitae will continue to manage the Embassy Theatre, SO Festival, and deliver its vibrant programme of cultural events and community-focused activities that so many people enjoy.
