What does it mean to celebrate the anniversary of your struggle? To us, it is both a reminder of our resilience, and of the bittersweet truth that our struggle still has to endure.
This summer, as Stay Grounded, we're celebrating our ten year anniversary by visiting members across Europe - knitting together grassroots struggles across the continent to draw a red line for airports.
Fittingly, our first stop was also an anniversary. In Paris, we celebrated ADVOCNAR's forty years of campaigning for victims of aviation nuisance. 40 years! Incredible.
The event was also connected to a talk by Anthony Viaux, a former airline pilot who resigned after realising the impact of the aviation sector on the climate. Anthony's brave decision is a very personal symbol of the process our society needs to go through so that we can live based on justice and responsibility, rather than reckless growth and inequality.
Keep an eye out for upcoming tour stops as we continue reflecting on our network and the struggle we are part of. Maybe you can even join us in-person!
