Amazing achievement! We were proud to have been part of the fantastic raffle ticket selling team 🫶🏻

WE DID IT! That's right, we helped raise a whopping £31,850 for BBC Children in Need as volunteers selling raffle tickets at CarFest this weekend! Despite the changeable weather and more challenging conditions this year, it didn't stop our volunteers from smiling and getting the job done - a big thanks to everyone who stopped by, said hello, bought a ticket or came for a chat.

Over the bank holiday weekend, two of our members, Tracey and Vicki, together with Charlie from Loughborough Ladies Circle, joined other Circlers, Tangent members, Tablers and 41 Club members as volunteer raffle ticket sellers for Children in Need at Carfest. They met lots of lovely people and had a brilliant time even in the rain on Saturday afternoon! Was an honour to volunteer for such a worthy charity and at such a brilliant event 🥰

Yesterday was Charnwood Tangent’s annual garden party - this year with a special twist, we were celebrating our sister club, Loughborough Ladies Circle 70th birthday! A 70s party theme was set including 70s theme fancy dress - don’t we all look amazing 🤩. We were also joined by Ladies Circle GB&I Vice President, Ellie, as special guest! Lovely afternoon celebrating friendship and fundraising with lots of fun! ❤️

Charnwood Tangent and some ladies from Loughborough Ladies Circle had a lovely time on Wednesday evening feeding Alpacas 🦙. Beautiful animals, very soft to touch and pretty chilled out unless you had food! 😂. We also had scones with strawberry jam and cream although we decided it best to eat those in the cafe away from the Alpacas who we know were not starving despite their protests! 😂 Thank you Charnwood Forest Alpacas for being perfect hosts!

On Wednesday evening some of Charnwood Tangent got creative at a pottery night! Many thanks to Claire for organising and for the Needle and Pin for hosting us (massive thank you for the air con! 😄). Now to organise painting our creations! What a talented group we are! 🥰

This months activity for the Charnwood Tangent ladies was indoor bowls! Harder than it looks but good fun! Many thanks to Charnwood Indoor Bowls Club for teaching us (and for their patience! 😂).

One of the lovely things about being part of Tangent is trying things you’ve never done before. Our activity last Wednesday was a Sound Bath. A bit strange to begin with but one of the most relaxing things we’ve done. Will definitely go to one again!

Tracey and Vicki had a fantastic time at 41 Club and Tangent National Conference in Southampton at the weekend. Lovely to see so many friends from across the UK. Well done to outgoing National President, Josie Blackburn, for an excellent year and raising £66,466 (and counting) for The British Heart Foundation ❤️, and to Emma-Jane Wright (IPP 2025/26) for raising a grand total of £58,790 for Breast Cancer Now (and people think we don’t do fundraising! 😉). Wishing the new National President, Carol Hamilton-King, and her Exec all the very best for 2026/27! Here’s to raising lots of money for Alzheimer’s Society! 🥰

A few photos from our AGM which took place at the White Horse in Quorn. AGM is also our Installation. Tracey’s report highlighted all the events we have held over the year and gave a big thank you to all those who organised events! She also thanked her exec, Beccy (Vice Chair), Sue (our outgoing Treasurer) and Bethan (Secretary) and then handed over to Beccy, our new Chairman for 2026/27. Good luck Beccy, Bethan and Becky (incoming Treasurer) it’s going to be an amazing year! 🥳
