When others said no we said yes to supporting a student from another educational setting to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The wonderful Steph spends her spare time helping Ethan obtain the volunteering part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. They love creating the colourful displays you’ll see around Pathways and his confidence has grown so much seeing these displays come to life.

Although this isn’t a course that we currently offer at Pathways we support many students to achieve it.

This week we welcomed Amanda Box from Outside the Box Coaching and Training to work with the staff and students on strategies we can use to support our positive wellbeing.

This is part of a six week course that will explore the unique ways that we learn - helping the Pathways community to having a better understanding of how the mind works, look at the tools we can use to manage overwhelm, become more aware of our strengths and how to effectively communicate our needs.

Providing the students with personalised tailor made coping strategies that they can use during challenging times to support their wellbeing in the workplace and beyond.

We believe every child deserves to be supported in a way that works for them, if you'd like to come and take a look around and see how we support our students email us on [email protected] to book your place on our open day.

Spaces are limited to ensure that both families and staff feel supported, if we are over subscribed we will open up more slots.

Friday Fun!

Yes we know it’s not Friday…but we wanted to share with you how we support our staff too.

Every Friday all our staff meet together before our students arrive, it’s so popular even those who aren’t in turn up!

It’s a chance to check in with each other, have some fun and of course enjoy some snacks and treats to celebrate the week together.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back on Monday for the final term for 2025/26.

It promises to be a fun filled term with lots of activities planned, including finalising the details for our next residential.

We are pleased to announce have recently passed our annual NCFE inspection with no actions which reinforces the high standards that we work to, supporting our students to achieve meaningful qualifications that provide them with the valuable skills needed for their future in the workplace.

For the second year running, we spend 2 days working towards gaining transferable skills in first aid. This resulted in both students and our new staff achieving a fully accredited formal first aid qualification. First aid is such a valuable transferable life skill and can be used not just in the workplace, it benefits students and staff and the wider community as learning these skills we can help save lives.

Everyone at Pathways is now trained in first aid which is something that we are super proud of.
