Last Friday we were so happy to sample Charlotte’s recent bake, it was absolutely delicious and a wonderful treat when we took 5 mins out to be in the moment with our staff to support their wellbeing.

When Charlotte first started with us she was very shy and unsure of what she wanted to do, she’s completed level 1 food hygiene with us and she is exploring a career in catering which is absolutely flying in. It’s wonderful to see her experimenting with different flavours and presentation styles.

We are so proud of Charlotte, thank you again for our wonderful bakes.

Birthdays at Pathways are always special. Last week we celebrated a double birthday so obviously we needed two cakes. It's always good to give our staff and students choice over which they prefer and this week we were able to share not just one but two cakes!

At Pathways we ensure that before a student starts with us they have a sensory, SEMH and Academic plan, but not just that we have back up plans too.

Every student who joins us is an individual and we will support them to succeed on their chosen path, working with them and their families to not only achieve their goals but grow in confidence too.

In the kitchen the students - plan what meals they would like for the following week, get the ingredients that are needed in advance. Our wonderful staff at Pathways then support them to make their meals and also teach them important skills like washing up and putting away.

These are such important life skills which incorporate embedded learning that will help prepare them for the future.

It’s also a brilliant way for them to try out different foods when they feel confident.

We’ve loved welcoming back our existing students, and we’re all enjoying getting back into a routine.

It’s also been heartwarming meeting our new students and support them with their transition to Pathways, we know that they will all succeed in a way that feels right for them and make new friends along the way.

We are so proud of all our students many of whom didn’t achieve what they wanted in mainstream school. They have now achieved ASDAN qualifications and formal level 1 and level 2 qualifications, helping them progress to our Garnet cohort to work on their level 3 qualifications or move into the world of work.
