20/04/2026
Good Afternoon,
I am pleased to announce that our Science and Engineering experience event, Mission STEMPossible is returning for 2026!
We will be hosting the event on Sunday 26th April in The Basement, Loughborough Students' Union Building, Ashby Road, LE11 3TT. Please aim to arrive for 1pm, with pick-up at 4:30pm.
At Mission STEMPossible, it is our aim to introduce Science and Engineering to the future generations. Our activities are aimed at children between 7 – 12 years old, with up to 30 spots available on a first come, first served basis.
Our volunteers will be running a range of activities for the children to get involved with. These will include a paper airplane competition, experimenting with Lego robots, building towers, and making slime. We will also be doing two chemistry demonstrations that will be performed by the volunteers for the children to observe. Please note, these activities may be subject to change prior to the event.
Children will be supervised by the volunteers throughout the event, with parents and careers welcome to stay if they choose. Please note, children should wear clothing that can get dirty for the event.
If you would like to reserve a space, please email [email protected] and ask for the consent form, which will need to be completed and returned before your child’s place is confirmed.
To get to this event, please look out for our volunteers in purple Action T-Shirts who will guide you to the event space. From there, the lead volunteer will confirm a completed consent form and pass on key information about the day.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a meal at this event, so please make sure that the children have had lunch prior to coming, and bring a reusable water bottle. There will be the opportunity to take home items made during the afternoon, so please bring a bag too.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] and he will get back to you.
