Just a reminder that the deadline to enter the Design a Badge competition for the Charnwood Challenge, is this weekend.

Here's a reminder, if you need it:
The Charnwood Challenge is a local event organised by Nanpantan Scouts. It is a tough 10 mile run or walk and there’s a fun run too. This year is our 8th eventand it is taking place on the 4/10/26.

All competitors receive an embroidered badge (like a Scout badge) that has been specially designed by a young person from Nanpantan Scout group.

THE BADGE DESIGN COMPETITION IS NOW OPEN, SO GET THOSE PENS AND PENCILS AT THE READY!

To take part, this is what you need to do:

Plan your design. It needs to be something to do with the event – so think about running, hills, trees, mud, or a number 8.

Draw your design in a circle. It needs to be a bold picture with a strong outline. Please try to use no more than 4 colours and keep the colours bold (no shading!)

Email your design to [email protected] or hand it to your scout leader.

DEADLINE IS THE 21st June.

It's time for a challenge......Charnwood Challenge!

Sunday 4 October 2026

Now in its eighth year, Nanpantan Scouts are once again holding the Charnwood Challenge, an off-road event for runners and walkers which covers a 10 miles route through the beautiful Charnwood countryside.

This is a great fundraiser for the group, and we are looking for your support for the event in a number of ways:

Enter! Entries are now open for runners, walkers and the Junior Challenge for squirrels / beavers / cubs / scouts - a 1 mile 'fun run' through the fields, entirely off-road. 40 people have already signed up so it's going to be another popular event.

Marshal - This is a vital part of this event, literally keeping everyone on track! And we need lots of help with this. Please comment on this post if you can help - even for an hour or two. It's a huge help. You will be rewarded with a high-viz vest and refreshments :)

Our AGM will be held on Wednesday 1 July, 7pm at the Scout Hut.

Please join us to hear what the group has been up to over the last year and plans for the future.

We are always delighted to be supported by parents / carers of our members, so please come along to find out more and if you'd be interested in supporting further. Refreshments will be provided.
