Twelve months ago, this building stood on the edge of irreversible decline. The roof was leaking in multiple places, asbestos posed a serious health hazard, and the electrics were dangerously out of date. One of Loughborough’s most iconic buildings was quietly fading away.
But something unexpected happened.
A group of people chose not to walk away. Where others saw decay, they saw possibility, and they rolled up their sleeves.
Since then, dangerous asbestos has been removed, a brand new roof has stopped the flooding, and the entire electrical system has been brought up to modern standards. Walls have been replastered, painted, and restored with care. There’s still a long way to go, but already, the transformation is remarkable.
Let’s be honest, had this building not been taken on, its story might have ended. But now, it’s entering a whole new chapter.
On Saturday 6th September at 3pm, you’re warmly invited to an event that will mark this moment in a meaningful way.
