We breed, train, and support expert assistance dogs to create loving, life-changing partnerships with disabled people. Across the UK, we support people with a variety of physical disabilities and their families, carefully matching them with a dog that suits their needs, personality, and lifestyle. Our dogs bring confidence and independence, love and companionship, reducing reliance on carers and giving people the freedom to live life their own way.

On Saturday it's but we want to celebrate it today πŸ₯“

We may not have a dog called Bacon, but here are some of our pups named after food!

If you could name a dog after your favourite food, what would it be?

Back to school for our future assistance dogs πŸ“š

While children are dusting off their school shoes and sharpening their pencils, our canine students are posing for their own school gate photos and getting ready for lessons of their own 🐾

From building confidence in new places to perfecting the skills they'll one day use to support their future partner, these clever dogs are working hard towards a very special graduation.

Pictured is the lovely Zara, ready for her assistance dog training lessons 🫢

We're looking for more Assistance Dog Training Volunteers!
You'll provide a safe, loving and stable home for a young dog like Zara, helping them put their learning into practice while caring for them for up to six months.
As part of the role, you'll take your canine student to our National Training Centre in Osgathorpe (LE67 9SR) for training sessions up to three times a week.

πŸ“ Live or work within 30 minutes of Osgathorpe (LE12 9SR)?
πŸŽ“ Could you help one of our clever dogs graduate into a life-changing assistance dog?

It's πŸ’œ

Loss can leave a space in our lives that can be difficult to put into words.

Today, we're thinking of everyone who is grieving, whether that's the loss of a loved one, a beloved pet, or another significant change in life.

The bond we share with our animals can be profound, and their absence can be felt deeply, sometimes long after they've gone. Losing a dog can be incredibly painful, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Everyone's journey is different, and it's important to give yourself the time, patience and compassion you need.

We offer our partners, volunteers and staff access to grief support as we recognise just how painful the loss of an assistance dog can be.

Be gentle with yourself today πŸ’œ

The moments that make it all worthwhile 🐢

We recognise that being a Puppy Training Volunteer is a big commitment, but it's also a chance to help raise and to train future life-changer and make a lasting difference to a disabled person's life.

Here's what some of our incredible Puppy Training Volunteers have to say about the journey πŸ’¬

On how it feels:

"The best thing about being a Puppy Training Volunteer is the joy and fun that comes with spending time playing with and training your puppy and seeing the progress they make each day." - Helen, Puppy Training Volunteer

On seeing first-hand the difference you've made:

"It's hard to put into words how special it was to see Bert again. To know we played a small part in his journey and to see the impact he's having today means so much." - Diane, Puppy Training Volunteer

On giving the puppy back:

"You learn that loving something doesn't always mean keeping it. The puppy has a bigger job to do." - Charleigh, Puppy Training Volunteer

And is it worth it?

"I can honestly say that becoming a Puppy Training Volunteer is one of the best things I have ever done in my life." - Julia, Puppy Training Volunteer

🐾 Could you help raise and train a future life-changer?

We're now recruiting in more areas across the UK. Visit our website to see if we're looking for Puppy Training Volunteers near you. If not, there are plenty of other dog volunteering opportunities to explore.
