The Official page for Canine Partners - a registered charity that trains assistance dogs

We breed, train, and support expert assistance dogs to create loving, life-changing partnerships with disabled people. Across the UK, we support people with a variety of physical disabilities and their families, carefully matching them with a dog that suits their needs, personality, and lifestyle. Our dogs bring confidence and independence, love and companionship, reducing reliance on carers and giving people the freedom to live life their own way.

This , we're celebrating the special partnership between Wendy and her Canine Partner, Carmen 💜

Wendy lives with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a rare genetic condition that causes her skin to be extremely fragile.

For Wendy, Carmen is much more than a helping paw. By assisting with everyday tasks, such as picking up dropped items, Carmen helps reduce the risk of damage to Wendy's skin and makes day-to-day life much easier.

Alongside the practical support she provides, Carmen brings confidence, independence and companionship, helping Wendy live life on her own terms.

🐾Together, they're a wonderful example of the difference a Canine Partner can make. Read Wendy and Carmen's story here 👇

Disabled people are being hit hard by the rising cost of living. Over half (52%) saying they could no longer afford to buy everything that they needed for their ‘impairment, condition, or access needs’.

We’re seeing the impact of this first hand. Last year, our Financial Assistance Fund spent £48,582 supporting partners in financial distress – covering everyday costs like food and insurance, as well and veterinary bill, which can quickly run into thousands of pounds.

We’re fundraising to raise £60,727 to ensure we can continue to support our partners in their time of need. Find out how you can help 👇

Our dogs get to explore lots of different communities before being matched with their partner 🚗

They’re socialised in shops, learn how to settle in cafés, and practise their taskwork in a variety of environments. As jacketed Canine Partner Assistance Dogs, they need to feel confident and comfortable in busy public spaces. Taking them out into the community with our Trainers helps them gradually become accustomed to different sights, sounds and surroundings.

Here’s Uno looking very keen to jump into the van and head off for some more training!

If you spot us out and about in our purple uniforms, please do come and say hello 💜
