Central Norfolk Cat Centre Welcome to the Cats Protection Central Norfolk Cat Centre. We are a friendly centre. Homing approximately 400-500 cats annually. We are open for reception sales.
(254)

Our doors are open to visitors 11-4 daily. Please see Additional Information before planning your visit We stock our shelves with cat litter, cat food, cat care goods and Cats Protection merchandise. Similarly our Bric-a-Brac shed is open daily for shoppers and donors of second-hand goods. Our reception and cat care staff will always do their best to offer face to face advice and assistance. Matching cats and homes appropriately is important to us. Our aim is to find cats homes that they can remain in. Our preferred method of homing, and the one that works best for our cats, is for prospective adopters to read about our cats online and register an interest in cats that suit their needs. We can then follow this with appropriate cat matching conversations and viewing appointments. Those who wish to visit us on site can, on arrival, expect a cat matching conversation with one of our cat care assistants. If we have suitable cats available they will then be invited to spend some time with them. We no longer open our pens for casual cat viewing. We’ve found our cats have been much more relaxed, healthier and happier with less disturbance. We can however in most instances give casual visitors a little walk round the centre and an overview of our work. We can only accept cats into our care by prearranged appointment. Our centre is very busy and we can not afford to leave pen space empty, therefore we can not routinely cater for surprise arrivals. We have no veterinary facilities on site, sick or injured emergencies are best taken to your local veterinary surgery.

Meet Atlas! 🐈‍⬛💜 This amazing little boy who despite losing both eyes still loves to run, jump and play. This sweet boy needed both eyes removing. He is in the care of Norwich branch who are now fundraising to cover some of the costs incurred. If you can donate to this appeal we'd be extremely grateful. Or perhaps you can share, like and comment on this post to help us reach more people. 🐾 https://www.justgiving.com/page/norwichdistrict-cats-protection-atlas

Do you enjoy driving and want to help cats in need?

If you're a confident driver and would like to use those skills to make a real difference, becoming a Transport Volunteer could be the perfect role for you.

Our Transport Volunteers play an important part in supporting the work of the Centre. The role may involve transporting cat food, litter and equipment, as well as taking cats to and from veterinary appointments, foster homes and other Cats Protection centres. You may also help transport equipment and supplies to and from fundraising and community events.

This is a flexible role that is shared with other volunteers on an as-needed basis, making it ideal for those who can offer occasional support around other commitments. Use of a company vehicle is provided.

To find out more, please contact our Volunteer Team Leader at [email protected]

Do you have a few hours to spare on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning? Do you love cats and don't mind rolling up your sleeves doing some cleaning?

If so, you could be the perfect Cat Care Assistant Volunteer at our Centre in Longham (please note our rural location, Hoe Road, NR19 2RP).

This is a role that requires a regular rota commitment so if you're reliable, caring and happy to be part of a hardworking team, we'd love to hear from you.

Our Cat Care Assistant Volunteers play a vital role in helping us provide the highest standards of care for the cats and kittens staying with us. Working as part of a friendly team, you'll clean cat pens, wash food bowls and litter trays, sort laundry, and assist with general tasks around the Centre to ensure our cats enjoy a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

And it's not all cleaning! Although we already have a group of regular cat socialisers, this role does allow some time to socialise with particular cats that require help to build their confidence to prepare them for their future homes.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept volunteers under the age of 18 as we do not have the staffing resources needed to provide the level of supervision and support required to ensure both the volunteer's safety and the welfare of the cats in our care.

To find out more, please contact our Volunteer Team Leader at [email protected]

💥NOW RESERVED💥

Rose and Pepper are bonded cats. They are looking for their forever home together 😻
Pepper is a lot more confident he is always the first to come and say hello and give head bumps!
Rose likes to take a step back from the spotlight for now, but we think once she has settled with her people she will make a lovely companion. Rose loves a treat and will accept little fusses❤️
Please share this post and enquire online if you are interested in a wonderful pair of cats 🐈‍⬛
