Yippee, school's out for Summer βοΈ and time to look back π at some of the highlights at LSYA, and recognise Young people's achievements across all of our projects. Long Stratton'sYouth Councillor's have been actively involved in the consultation for new play equipment for smaller children on Manor Rd Playing Fields and are leading the way in ensuring that it is accessible for all. We also had Nicole, one of our Youth Councillors, join the interview panel for our new Youth Support Worker. Nicole did a fantastic job and was instrumental in the decision making process. As such we are pleased to have welcomed Ash Murphy to the Youth work team and he has fitted in perfectly.
We've also had fun growing our fruit and veg (just look at our onions π°), playing basketball, making our own π and covering ourselves with glitter tattoos. At our Evening Youth Cafe we enjoyed tasters from the non- alcoholic bar π₯, while having a few games of bingo. All I needed was π¦π¦ but sadly it was not my night.
The Youth Cafe is now closed until Wednesday 9th September but there are still places available for young people in school year 7 and above (age 11+) on our camping trip to Barton Turf Activity Centre from Monday 17th - Wednesday 19th August in partnership with the Broads Education team. Please contact me at [email protected] for further information.
We may also be offering additional activities during the holidays so please keep an eye out for information about these and if we don't π you before September, have a great Summer π
