An update on colleague recruitment of tenant-facing roles.

Following recent content and speculation on social media, we wanted to take the opportunity to inform and reassure tenants on the approach that we take to recruiting tenant facing colleagues.

Our recruitment processes for tenant facing colleagues are subject to pre-employment checks - including references, right to work checks, occupational health screening and DBS clearance where applicable.

We understand that individual tenants may on occasion have concerns and we remain committed to responding to any concerns or complaints on an individual basis and will continue to take any relevant action taken as appropriate.

Please contact us on [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

On Friday 7th August, we held our first Community Action Day at Tower Close, Costessey. The day brought together tenants, colleagues and partners to provide support to the local community.

We provided 4 skips for rubbish clearance and carried out a litter pick to help clean up the estate. In addition, colleagues were on-hand to undertake small home repairs for tenants.

Also in attendance were officers from the Police Operational Partnership Team (OPT), along with the Beat Officer for Tower Close and representatives from South Norfolk Council's Housing Team. They spoke with tenants, offering advice and support on topics including anti-social behaviour and housing options.

Most importantly, we received extremely positive feedback from tenants, who appreciated the opportunity to meet staff and have a say in their community.

❗Fire safety advice during hot and dry weather 🔥 Please help keep you and your surroundings safe by following these fire safety guidelines ⬇️

🌭BBQs: Avoid disposable BBQs on dry grass, in parks, on balconies, on decking or close to buildings, fences, sheds or vegetation. Never leave a BBQ unattended and make sure it is completely cold before disposal.

🚬Smoking: Don’t discard ci******es or glass bottles in open spaces, as these can cause fires.

🌿Gardens and communal areas: Keep dry leaves, vegetation and other combustible materials away from buildings where possible.

🧱Balconies and patios: Keep gas bottles, fuel, and flammable materials away from balconies or outdoor areas. Take particular care with ci******es, candles and BBQs. Never use a BBQ on a balcony.

🔥Avoid lighting bonfires and burning rubbish in hot, dry, or windy conditions - during periods of prolonged hot and dry weather, grass and vegetation can become extremely dry and ignite easily.

➡️More information to help you stay safe in the heat, bring you awareness of potential hazards, and understand when you should seek help can be found on our website: https://www.saffronhousing.co.uk/about-us/our-news/latest-news/advice-and-support/hot-weather-advice-and-support/
