Long Melford is a beautiful village situated in Suffolk near the Essex border. The village has two splendid Tudor mansions - Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall, both worth a visit. The main street is over a mile long, hence the name 'Long' Melford with a wide variety of independent shops, galleries, antique and fashion shops. The village also boasts a large selection of pubs, restaurants,hotels and tearooms - something for everyone.

It’s that time of year again when private gardens in Long Melford open to the public for 1 day only on Bank Holiday Monday 26th May between 10am - 4:30pm.

This year 22 gardens the length of the village will be open to enjoy. Tickets can be purchased in advance from , Budgens and the Co-op. Tickets are £7.50 per adult and must be paid for in cash. Tickets are also available on the day from the gardens.

As Long Melford prepares for VE Day tomorrow, the village is looking spectacular in red, white & blue! Come and celebrate and remember the 80th Anniversary with us.

Many of the local businesses will be celebrating in their own way, please check out their pages to find out more.

There will also be a beacon lighting and service on the upper village green from 8:30pm tomorrow (Thursday). Free parking will be available in the village carparks and on the middle green for this evening event.

Come along to Festive Long Melford on Saturday 30th November and kick start your Christmas season.
