Niyabo Foundation

Niyabo Foundation Niyabo Foundation is a Community Organization for youth in the UK & elsewhere to transform their life style through Music & Cultural education

Nyinomugisha Niyabo Foundation is a music/cultural organisation dedicated to empowering undiscovered talent amongst kids and youth from a diverse background, by enhancing their livelihood through skills training, so that they can be able to sustain themselves at a reasonable welfare level. Under the organization firmly sits 3 record labels that cover a range of genres. With a positive progressive

attitude towards achieving a better future, our youth are trained by professional music tutors, who are signed to one of our record labels. During the lessons that are held 3 times a week, these future stars in our eyes are taught the theory behind the genre of their choice, to stage performance and more. Some of the youth may choose to gain experience as a recording artist on completion of the course and they have the option of signing to one of the 3 labels, or have the choice to pursue other careers out of the entertainment industry. Through these projects NNF aims to change the public mind set and accept that all children and youth of Northern Uganda are our children and through music we are building the love and acceptance between those who are and those who are not privileged to belong to well do to families. It is well known that the insurgency/war that lasted for 20 years in northern Uganda, brought about massive displacement of the population of all ages both in the rural and urban areas. The most affected have been the youth, who have to look for food, shelter and clothing on their own more especially are the orphans who have undergone and witness untold suffering. By inviting and partnering with other youth organizations, NNF creates a channel to give further assistance to our next generation, who still carry along scars of those dark years. We are 100% dedicated to our passion - MUSIC, motivating and inspiring our youth. Though music comes from the heart, NNF still underlines the rules of hardwork, dedication, respect and love not only for one another, but for loving ourselves. NNF musically educates all youth who join in their desired choice of music genre, promotes Acholi culture, customs and traditional values through songs, ideas, riddles, revival of oral and written literatures depicting historical values. We aim for high quality and our music portrays that we simply are dedicated to creating the best in what we do. As most organizations have a lot to say, write on paper and little to show, we are the first that are different in what we do. We are musicians and our language is music. We will not be the typical organization to keep wasting our musically precious time writing essays on what we are doing, but we will instead do it our way. The two important tools of our organization are not pen and paper, but a bluetooth radio and a camera! Our weekly training sessions, studio sessions and events shall all be recorded live and uploaded to our page and channels. We shall let the public see for themselves that we take our creative Art serious and for supporters, partners and sponsors, this shall be a way to witness where all the kind support we receive is being invested. We give thanks for LIFE, LOVE and all our SUPPORTERS who are sharing our passion and urge to change the face of Northern Uganda and giving our youth a chance to reach for the sky. Nyinomugisha Niyabo Foundation is a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit making organization. FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/nyinomugishaniyabofoundation

NGOM KWARO (ancestral land) at the moment is a much talked about topic worldwide. We witness a global plea in different countries and cultures to protect ancestral land as land grabbers increase in expanding industries that will only benefit a few.

Gwok Lebi Cultural Group send out their message to not only our brothers and sisters in the northern regions, but across the globe that we must protect our land to remain in the possession of our future generations.

The beauty of the Acoli (pronounced Acholi) culture is the inclusion of the younger generation. As seen here the children learn our history while joining in the music and dance.
