Dr Nirendra Nath Dutta Father, Physician, Philanthropist, and Patron of the Arts
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of friend and fellow Dramatist, Dr Nirendra Nath Dutta at the age of 87.
Born in Dibrugarh, Dr Dutta moved to the UK in the 1960s, where he advanced his career and made significant contributions to the medical and philanthropic communities.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Pritha Dutta, his children, Neena and Rudra Neil Dutta, as well as an extended family that adored him.
Dr Dutta's illustrious medical career began at Calcutta Medical College and flourished at the Royal Imperial College in London.
Beyond his professional achievements, he had a passion for theatre and music and was actively involved in amateur dramatics with the Dramatists group for over 40 years.
Known for his humour and popularity, he was revered not only by his family and friends but also by his patients. His legacy of compassion, dedication, and kindness will be remembered by all who had the honour of knowing him.
Dr Nirendra Nath Dutta will be deeply missed.
