It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to escape narratives.
Even more so in contemporary terms, when the information mirrors the individual and their idiosyncrasies.

Nature and the laws of physics teach us that everything changes.

Training and psychological support work in the direction of making sense of this and to both acknowledge, testimony, respect, and come to terms with it.

What if you were blind and someone dragged you unexpectedly "to help you" cross the road?

Juliette, here training with her husband, is completely blind and having the overall correct stance/balance during this exercise took us quite a while to acquire. From here, we can further improve the integration of leg work and feet positioning with the arms reacting interdependendly to external pressure.

Martial Attitude Training unpacks certain aspects of martial arts and makes them accessible to visually impaired and blind people to enhance their confidence when in contact with others in social settings and to provide them with new tools for geater spatial navigation.

Workshops are running every Sunday afternoon in Central London.

There is one thing far more important than motivation, which is, by the way, overrated.

Intention.
Direction.
Perspective.

Are all these the same under slightly different nuanced expressions, or are they consequential to one another?

Two perspectives indicating you are at the centre of the process, always.

You know. You act.

Sport psychology can help identify, simplify, organise, classify, prioritise, clarify.

Confidence is built on self-efficacy.

The exercise that Richard is delivering here is particularly tricky for visually impaired and blind people as it involves some elements of trust, in that part of the movements are happening whilst not in contact with the other person.

At Martial Attitude, we work to create familiarity in this kind of contact, strengthening one's sense of agency through both pressure and sound cues.

Workshops run every Sunday in Haggerston, London.

Keep in touch.
