ELM Adults’ Hifdh Class — one year on! 🤍

Alhamdulillah, it has now been a year since our first cohort of the Adults’ Hifdh Class began their Qur’an memorisation journey.

Last week, our students gathered for a special Qur’an Revision Day, reciting and revising everything they had memorised over the past year. Alhamdulillah, the majority of our students have successfully completed their 5 Ajza’ target, a tremendous milestone and one worthy of gratitude.

To further strengthen their Hifdh and build confidence in their recitation, the students then gathered privately for Qiyam al-Layl, where they recited their memorisation during the night prayer.

Since the launch of the Adults’ Hifdh Class, we have been blessed to establish two additional classes, led by Shaykh Abdur Rahman Turki and Shaykh Kamran.

By the permission of Allah, we hope to welcome our next cohort in the coming months, alongside opening several classes specifically for sisters.

We ask Allah to accept the efforts of every student, teacher and supporter, make the Qur’an firm in their hearts, and make it a source of guidance, light and companionship throughout their lives, Ameen 🤲

Last night, the East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre hosted a public meeting to remember the Battle of Cable Street, 90 years on.

Faith leaders, councillors, campaigners and residents came together to honour the East Londoners who stopped Mosley's fascists in 1936, and to stand together against antisemitism, Islamophobia and all forms of racism.

Thank you to our partners, the Cable Street 90 Coalition, United East End, Together on Cable Street, Tower Hamlets Community Coalition, Tower Hamlets Inter Faith Forum and the Council of Mosques, and to everyone who spoke and attended.

The Cable Street 90 commemoration takes place tomorrow, Sunday 4 October. Gather from 12 noon outside Tower Hamlets Town Hall, Whitechapel Road. All welcome.
