🥋 A fantastic Kata Seminar with Sensei Daniel Munteanu from Romania 🇷🇴

We began with kihon before studying Tomari Bassai in depth, followed by its bunkai. In the second session, we continued with kihon, Ohan Dai, and its bunkai. Understanding the practical applications (bunkai) is essential to fully appreciating the meaning, purpose, and effectiveness of each kata.

Following the seminar, we held a small-group Kobudo session, giving participants an introduction to traditional Okinawan weapons training. Due to the positive response, Kobudo training will become a regular part of our programme from September.

A huge thank you to Sensei Daniel Munteanu for travelling from Romania to share his knowledge and experience with us. We also extend our sincere thanks to all the participants and their instructors for attending and making the seminar such a success.

We look forward to seeing you all again at our future events.

ANOTHER WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SELECTION! 🥋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Another fantastic moment for Sh*to Ryu Karate Federation of England as Nada Wegrzyn has been selected to represent England at the 14th WKF Cadet, Junior & U21 World Karate Championships in Bielsko-Biała, Poland 🇵🇱 this October, competing in the Female Junior Kata category.

Following Maya Harjan's selection in Kumite, we are incredibly proud to celebrate another England representative, this time in Kata. A brilliant achievement that reflects Nada's commitment, discipline, and hard work.

Now the focus turns to preparation. Train hard, stay determined, and enjoy every moment of this incredible journey.
