SRKFE Instructor Attends Anti-Doping Event at UK Parliament
Today, Juan Cabrera, an Instructor within the Sh*to Ryu Karate Federation of England (SRKFE), attended the Emerging Drug Trends in Sport event, organised by the APPG on Emerging Drugs and Online Behavioural Trends and co-chaired by The Rt Hon. the Lord John Taylor of Holbeach CBE, at the UK Parliament, Palace of Westminster.
The event brought together experts and professionals from sport, education, anti-doping, healthcare, and public policy to discuss current and emerging challenges facing athletes and sporting organisations, as well as the future of clean sport and athlete welfare.
In one of the photographs, Juan is pictured alongside:
๐น Mario Theophanous โ Head of Intelligence and Investigations, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD)
๐น Sam Pool โ Head of Insight and Innovation, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD)
Another photograph features:
๐น Professor Olivier Rabin โ World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), one of the leading figures in global anti-doping science, education, and policy.
This was an excellent opportunity for SRKFE to be represented at an important national discussion on integrity in sport, athlete welfare, anti-doping education, and the challenges that modern sport continues to face.
We are proud to see our instructors continuing their professional development and engaging with leading experts from across the sporting sector. Continuous learning and education are essential in ensuring that we provide the highest standards of coaching, guidance, and safeguarding for our athletes.
We look forward to Juan sharing the knowledge and insights gained from this event at a future SRKFE Instructor's Course, helping our instructors, coaches, athletes, and parents better understand the importance of clean sport, anti-doping awareness, and protecting the future of sport for the next generation.
Congratulations to Juan for representing SRKFE and continuing to invest in his development as an instructor.
The more we learn, the better we can support, educate, and inspire the next generation of athletes.
