Statement from London Fano CIC
Protest in Liverpool London Fano CIC stands in solidarity with those protesting today, 11 March 2026, outside the Home Office at Capital House in Liverpool.
We believe that immigration is not a crime. People who seek safety, dignity, and protection should not be criminalised for fleeing violence and persecution.
We also call urgent attention to the ongoing suffering of the Amhara people in Ethiopia. The international community must not ignore the violence, displacement, and humanitarian crisis affecting Amhara communities. If the root causes of displacement—war, persecution, and genocide—are addressed, fewer people will be forced to flee their homes. Stopping the violence against the Amhara people is not only a moral obligation, but also a necessary step toward reducing forced migration.
We call on the UK government, international organisations, and global leaders to:
• Recognise and address the atrocities affecting the Amhara people
• Protect refugees and asylum seekers
• Work toward lasting peace and justice in Ethiopia
London Fano CIC supports peaceful protest and the right of communities to raise their voices against injustice.
Immigration is not a crime.
Human rights must be protected for all.
