💚 Calling Alumnae from the Classes of 2020–2025 💚

Life Beyond Kingsmead: The Next Chapter

Final year brings excitement, uncertainty and a lot of questions.

University applications. Residences. Gap years. First jobs. Moving away from home. Figuring out what comes next.

Our Grade 12 students are standing on the edge of a brand-new chapter, and your story could be exactly what they need to hear right now.

If you are a recent Kingsmead alumna, we would love to welcome you back to campus for a cosy evening of honest conversations, indulgent hot chocolate, marshmallows, cookies and shared experiences.

Whether you are studying, working, taking a gap year or finding your own path, your experience matters. Your advice could help calm nerves, answer questions and remind someone that they are not alone.

Come back to campus, reconnect in person and help support the next generation of Kingsmead girls 💚

See the invitation for all the details and RSVP by Friday 12 June via the link in our bio.

We look forward to welcoming alumnae who attended Kingsmead College prior to 1970.

Did you attend Kingsmead after 1970? Don't worry, we have two more Memory Hours this term especially for you. Watch this space for more details.

We warmly invite Kingsmead alumnae who attended prior to 1970 to join us for Memory Hour.

Join us for a special afternoon to visit our museum, share tea, and reminisce. Cast your mind back to croquet on the lawns, the art of French skipping, and the days of ink pens.

As Kingsmead looks ahead to its 100th anniversary in seven years’ time, our archivist would be delighted to record and preserve these treasured memories as part of the stories that will help shape and enrich our future centenary celebrations.

Reconnect, reflect, and help ensure your chapter of Kingsmead’s story forms part of the legacy we honour for generations to come.

We are exceptionally proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Kingsmead alumna Dr Pippa Durr, Deputy Head Girl of the Class of 2008 💚

Pippa has recently completed her Master of Medicine in Paediatrics at Stellenbosch University, graduating cm laude after nearly 16 years of dedicated study.

As part of her degree, she conducted research on the utilisation of community-based services for children in the Cape Metro. Her work focused on strengthening connections between healthcare facilities and community-based care, aiming to improve continuity of care for vulnerable children. This is a critically important area within the South African healthcare context.

Pippa’s journey is also one of resilience. She completed her studies while navigating fertility challenges and welcoming her daughter, demonstrating exceptional perseverance and commitment.

She is currently working at Victoria Hospital in paediatric infectious diseases, allergy and neurodevelopmental clinics. Looking ahead, Pippa hopes to sub-specialise in infectious diseases and ultimately pursue a career as a community paediatrician.

Pippa reflects on her time at Kingsmead College as formative in shaping her sense of purpose, compassion and resilience, values that continue to guide her professional path.

We are incredibly proud of Pippa and look forward to seeing the continued impact of her work 💚

We’re looking back at our 2026 Open Day in February, a wonderful moment for the Kingsmead community. 💚

Our incredible alumnae were part of Open Day this year. From alumnae who now work at Kingsmead to those who continue to show up, support, and stay connected in so many ways, it meant a lot to have you there. Seeing former students give back, share their journeys, and help welcome future Kingsmead families made the day even more memorable.

Our alumnae community plays such an important role in the life of Kingsmead, and it is always inspiring to see those connections continue long after school.

If you are an alumna and would like to get involved in future events or initiatives, we would love to hear from you. 💚

Since 1939…

This beautifully hand-beaten door handle, crafted in England, has been part of our school’s story for generations.

Do you recognise it? Where is it?

Alumnae, we would love to see your guesses and hear your memories of this place.
