(Lk 23:28-31) Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 For behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains fall on us, and to the hills, cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry tree?
On that 1st Good Friday, Jesus was on the way to Calvary, he was bleeding from many wounds. He still had pity on those women in the crowds for their tender hearts, as they followed.
Jesus knew he had come to earth for this very purpose, to suffer as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world. His agony had only begun, but he knew that when his great sacrifice was fully accomplished, it would result in life for the whole human race; and he would be reunited with his heavenly father.
.for the joy set before him he endured the cross, despising the shame... (Heb 12:2).
Jesus was spiritually strengthened, so was able to turn his attention to those women following him and he warned them of the future suffering that they would face.
"For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?"
If that nation could carry out the act of gross injustice while it still retained some of its religiosity, what could be expected when the end of time approaches as we see in the world today. Dry wood would be ready for burning.
Taking your place in Christ is what will guarantee that you are not burnt as dry tree. It is the place of our safety.
You are reading this message and you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Please say this simple prayer and mean it from your heart.
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for the sacrifice of your death, humiliation and suffering for my salvation.
I believe you are the son of God. You died for me on the cross and rose again for my victory in life and destiny. Come into my heart and take your lordship in my life from today. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering me.
I believe am saved and now belong to you. I take up my place of safety in you Lord.
Help me to follow you. Amen.
Let us pray
*Thank you Lord Jesus for taking our place and giving us your place through your death and resurrection.
*Help us Lord to cling to you forever.
*We trust your strong hand holding unto us, because if we are to do the holding, there is the tendency to lose grip of you Lord.
In your name Lord Jesus I declare healing, protection, preservation and needed supplies. Receive in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Happy Celebrations
