With sincere regret, the Miss Lebanon Emigrant UK 2026 pageant will be postponed in light of the current situation in Lebanon.

While we had greatly looked forward to celebrating this special event with our remarkable applicants and the Lebanese community in the United Kingdom, it is unfortunately not possible to proceed with the competition this summer as originally planned.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who submitted such inspiring applications. Your enthusiasm, grace, and pride in your Lebanese heritage truly reflect the spirit of this pageant.

The safety and wellbeing of our participants, guests, and community remain our highest priority. The competition will resume once we receive confirmation that the Miss Lebanon Emigrant pageant in Lebanon can be held under safer and more stable circumstances.

We deeply appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to future editions of this beautiful celebration of Lebanese culture and identity.

وفد من الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم يلتقي سفيرة لبنان في المملكة المتحدة فرح بري

قام وفد من الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، برئاسة الرئيس العالمي روجيه هاني، بزيارة السفيرة اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة فرح بري في مقرّ إقامتها في لندن، بحضور نائب رئيس البعثة مروان فرنسيس.
ضمّ الوفد كلاً من الأمين العام السابق جورج أبي رعد، رئيس المجلس القاري لأوروبا سعيد يزبك، ورئيسة فرع لندن بيان الأعور الصايغ.
وقد هنّأ الوفدُ السفيرة بري بتسلّمها مهامها الدبلوماسية الجديدة في لندن، معبّرين عن تقديرهم لمشاركتها والسيد فرنسيس في حفل العشاء الذي أقامته الجامعة بمناسبة عيد الاستقلال. كما أكد الوفد حرص الجامعة على متابعة التعاون والتنسيق الكامل معها.
وتناول اللقاء عرضاً للأنشطة التي تقوم بها الجامعة على المستويين الدولي وفي المملكة المتحدة، إضافة إلى الجهود المبذولة من قبل الطرفين في المحافل الدولية لدعم لبنان، وخصوصاً تلك المتعلقة بإنهاء الاحتلال وإزالة أسبابه.

A WLCU Delegation met Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Farah Berri

A delegation from the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), led by its World President Roger Hani, visited Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Farah Berri, at her residence in London, in the presence of Deputy Head of Mission Marwan Francis.
The delegation included former Secretary-General Georges Abi Raad, President of the Regional Council for Europe Said Yazbek, and the President of the London Chapter, Bayan Al-Aawar Al-Sayegh.
The delegation congratulated Ambassador Berri on assuming her new diplomatic duties in London, expressing their appreciation for her and Mr. Francis’s participation in the dinner held by the WLCU on the occasion of Independence Day. They also affirmed the WLCU’s commitment to maintaining full cooperation and coordination with her.
The meeting also covered an overview of the activities carried out by the WLCU internationally and in the United Kingdom, in addition to the efforts made by both sides in international forums to support Lebanon, particularly those related to ending the occupation and addressing its causes. ‎

الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم تلبي دعوة السيد بسام محفوظ للمشاركة في حفل الاستقلال في بلدية لندن

شارك وفد من الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، برئاسة الرئيس العالمي روجيه هاني، في الحفل الذي أقامه السيد بسام محفوظ، عضو مجلس لندن، في قاعة احتفالات المدينة، لمناسبة عيد الاستقلال.
ضمّ الوفد كلاً من الأمين العام السابق جورج أبي رعد، رئيس المجلس القاري لأوروبا سعيد يزبك، رئيسة فرع لندن بيان الأعور الصايغ، برفقة السادة فادي الراعي وفايز مكارم.
تخلّل الحفل كلمات لكل من السيدة ريما بعقليني، عضو المجلس البلدي، والسيد بسام محفوظ، ونائبي رئيس البلدية، تناولت عمق العلاقات التي تجمع الشعبين الصديقين، وأكّدت على أهمية تعزيز التعاون المشترك.

The World Lebanese Cultural Union Attended the Independence Day Celebration at London City Hall, Hosted by Mr. Bassam Mahfouz

A delegation from the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), headed by its World President Roger Hani, participated in the celebration held by Mr. Bassam Mahfouz, member of the London Council, at the City Hall on the occasion of Lebanon’s Independence Day.
The delegation included former Secretary-General Georges Abi Raad, President of the Regional Council for Europe Said Yazbek, President of the London Chapter Bayan Al-Aawar Al-Sayegh, accompanied by Mr. Fadi Al-Rai and Mr. Fayez Makarem.
The celebration included speeches by Council Member Rima Baaklini, Mr. Bassam Mahfouz, and two Deputy Mayors, highlighting the depth of the relationship between the two friendly peoples and emphasizing the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation.

أقامت الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم في المملكة المتحدة (WLCU UK) احتفالًا رسميًا بمناسبة عيد الاستقلال اللبناني، تميّز بحضور ديبلوماسي وسياسي وثقافي رفيع المستوى، وبأجواء تعبّر عن عمق ارتباط الجالية اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة بوطنها الأم.
وقد استقبل رئيس المجلس الوطني للجامعة في المملكة المتحدة، السيد سعيد يزبك، ورئيسة فرع لندن، السيدة بيان الأعور صايغ، وأعضاء الهيئة الإدارية، نخبة من الشخصيات الرسمية، في طليعتهم:
* سعادة السفيرة فرح بري، سفيرة لبنان لدى المملكة المتحدة • السيد مروان فرنسيس، نائب رئيس البعثة والمستشار الاول في السفارة
* السيد بسام محفوظ، عضو مجلس لندن
* الأب جوني مطر، رئيس البعثة المارونية في المملكة المتحدة
* السيد جورج أبي رعد، الأمين العام العالمي السابق للجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، ممثلاً للرئيس العالمي السيد روجيه هاني
كما شهد الحفل مشاركة ممثلين عن عدد من الأحزاب والمؤسسات السياسية والاجتماعية والخيرية، منها حزب الكتائب والقوات اللبنانية والحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي والجمعية الدرزية البريطانية، فضلًا عن حضور بارز لعدد من الشخصيات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية المؤثرة في الجالية.
استُهلّ البرنامج الرسمي بالنشيدين الوطنيين البريطاني واللبناني، تلت ذلك كلمات ترحيبية ورسمية. رحّبت السيدة الأعور بالوفود المشاركة، فيما نقل السيد أبي رعد كلمة رئيس الجامعة التي أكد فيها أن: "الاستقلال بالنسبة إلى الانتشار اللبناني هو محطة تعكس إيماننا بقدرتنا على دعم وطننا، فكل إنجاز في الاغتراب، وكل مبادرة تضامنية، وكل جهد للحفاظ على هويتنا، يشكل مساهمة فعلية في صون سيادة لبنان وتعزيز الأمل بمستقبله."
بعدها، قدّم السيد يزبك عرضًا للبرامج الاستراتيجية الثلاثة التي يعمل عليها المجلس الوطني في المملكة المتحدة بالتنسيق مع المجلس العالمي للجامعة، وهي:
-برنامج "لبوليوشن" المخصص لتمكين الشباب من أصل لبناني من زيارة وطنهم الأم والتعرّف إلى إرثه الثقافي
-مسابقة ملكة جمال المغترب اللبناني لعام 2026
-البطاقة الرقمية للانتشار اللبناني، التي تهدف إلى تعزيز التواصل مع اللبنانيين حول العالم عبر تقديم باقة من الامتيازات والحسومات من خلال شركاء من مختلف القطاعات.
كما شمل البرنامج عشاءً تقليديًا ترافق مع فقرات من الأغاني التراثية اللبنانية، مما أضفى على المناسبة طابعًا ثقافيًا مميزًا.

What a beautiful and successful Lebanese Independence Day event carried out by the WLCU UK. 🇱🇧

• Mr. Said Yazbeck, President of WLCU UK National Council, Mrs. Bayan Al Awar Sayegh, President of the WLCU London chapter, and the board members were honoured to welcome:

• H.E. Farah Berri, Ambassador of Lebanon to the UK
• Mr. Marwan Francis, Deputy Chief of Mission & Counsellor
• Mr. Bassam Mahfouz, London Assembly Member
• Father Johnny Mattar, Head of the Maronite Mission in the UK
• Mr. Georges Abi Raad, previous World Secretary-General of the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), representing WLCU World President Mr. Roger Hani

We were also joined by leaders of many political and charitable organisations, including representatives of the Kataeb Party, the Lebanese Forces, the Progressive Socialist Party, the British Druze Society, as well as many influential and important businessmen and women.

The event started with the UK and Lebanese national anthems, followed by several speeches.

Mrs. Al Awar welcomed the distinguished guests. Mr. Abi Raad said in the speech pronounced for the World President: “For us, the Lebanese diaspora, independence carries a special meaning. It reminds us that every success we achieve abroad, every act of solidarity, and every effort to preserve our culture contributes to strengthening Lebanon’s sovereignty and hope.”

Then Mr. Yazbeck talked about the three programs that WLCU UK is working on, in collaboration with WLCU World:
• “Lebolution”, allowing youth from Lebanese descent to visit their mother country
• Miss Lebanon Emigrant contest in 2026
• The Lebanese Diaspora digital card, designed for all Lebanese expatriates and emigrants around the world, to provide the cardholders with discounts and benefits from business partners who joined this program
