Celebrating 150 Years of Mothers’ Union
Wednesday 10th June saw over 1,000 people pack St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate 150 years of MU. It was lovely to see the ladies from Africa in their MU dresses! The address was given by the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Revd and Rt Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally.
The following day, the Annual Gathering was held in the Emmanuel Centre, next door to Mary Sumner House. We were welcomed by Bev Jullien and Kathleen Snow. Bev is standing down after 11 years as CEO of Mothers’ Union.
Former Worldwide Presidents, including Lady Christine Eames, reflected on their terms of office and other speakers throughout the day shared updates on what is happening throughout the U.K. and Ireland, covering topics such as domestic abuse, AFIA and prison work.
The event was drawn to a close as everyone joined in worship singing “In Christ Alone”.
