🧵 Stitching Brighter Futures at Atchuvely Carmel Academy
At the Sri Lankan Children's Foundation (SLCF), we believe that education is about equipping young people with practical skills that empower them to build independent and successful futures.
We were proud to support Atchuvely Carmel Academy in Jaffna through a project designed to help young people develop sewing skills and explore opportunities in entrepreneurship.
As part of this initiative, SLCF provided:
🧵 Sewing machines for practical training
✂️ Hands-on instruction in the fundamentals of sewing
👗 Opportunities for students to create and present their finished work
🎓 Certificates awarded upon successful completion of the sewing course
Throughout the programme, students gained valuable practical experience while developing creativity, confidence, and technical skills. Their final presentations showcased not only what they had learned but also their dedication, enthusiasm, and potential.
By providing vocational training, this project helps open doors to future employment, self-employment, and small business opportunities—giving students the confidence and skills to create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
Congratulations to every student who completed the course. Your hard work and determination are an inspiration, and we look forward to seeing the many ways you will use your new skills in the future.
A heartfelt thank you to our donors and supporters whose generosity continues to create opportunities and transform lives through education and skills development.
