Our spring bulbs have arrived at the hut and it’s a perfect time to get them in a pot or in the ground. Graham has some helpful suggestions on planting them (see below).
The hut is open Wednesday 14.30-15.30 and Sunday 10.30-12.00 so why not pop in…

Yesterday the village hall was filled with amazing vegetables, cakes, flowers & photographs at the horticultural society’s Autumn Show. The children were very busy baking, making collages & taking photos. We were impressed with the creatures made from vegetables/fruit - very inventive. Well done to everyone who participated in what was a tough summer with all the heatwaves. Hopefully those who attended enjoyed the exhibits and the refreshments. Our next event is our AGM on Friday 27th November at 7.30pm in the village hall.

Thanks to everyone who visited the horticultural stall yesterday to purchase plants, join the society or just to chat and ask for planting advice. We hope you found our advice helpful and you enjoy your plants.

The festival membership offer is still available so pop down to the horticultural hut on Wednesdays (2.30-3.30) or Sundays (10.30-12.00) to join. Of course if it’s more convenient, you can always email us (details on our website).

Check out our plant stall on Milton Court on Saturday from 1-5pm. We will have a selection of bedding plants, perennials, shrubs and roses, and your purchases can be housed in our plant crèche until going home time. Why not come early to select the pick of our stock…

Don’t forget our plant sale tomorrow at the horticultural hut from 2.30-6.00pm. There will be lots of bedding plants and perennials, as well as our staple gardening supplies such as compost & fertilisers.
If you can’t make tomorrow, we will have our usual flower stall on Festival Day (13 June) in Milton Court, so catch us then.

On Friday 24th April at 3pm, BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time will be broadcast from Harmondsworth Great Barn. Some of our members were in the audience & a couple were chosen to pose a question to the panel, which consisted of Frances Tophill, Bunny Guinness & James Wong. If you miss the recording on Friday, it can be heard again on Sunday at 2pm.

Last Saturday at our Spring Show, the village hall was filled with amazing exhibits - spring flowers, pot plants, handicrafts, photographs, floral displays, bakes & beer. Well done to all our exhibitors for taking part, and many congratulations to the winners. See you at our plant sale on 13th May 2.30-5.30pm.
