This Black History Month, we celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Black communities, and reflect on the work still to be done. ❤️

In Lambeth, home to one of the largest Black communities in London, we are committed to supporting families in ways that are culturally informed, respectful and rooted in trust.

We recognise the importance of listening and advocating, particularly for Black parents navigating systems that haven’t always served them equitably. Our team represents the communities we serve - something we're particularly proud of and are aware of the importance in building trusting relationships with our families.

📣 We're delighted to share our latest Impact Report 2025/26! 💙

In 2025/26, we supported 256 families across South London through our range of services, including Residential Assessments, Securing Change, Jigsaw Family Contact Centre, Outreach support for young parents aged 25 and under in Lambeth, and our Caring Dads programme.

📖 Inside the report, you’ll find real stories from families we’ve worked alongside, showing the progress they’ve made and the brighter futures they are building.

💙 We’re Hiring | Senior Assessing Social Worker

St Michael’s Fellowship is evolving — and we’re looking for a Senior Assessing Social Worker to join us as we develop our integrated family assessment and support pathway.

This is an opportunity to combine relationship-based work with families alongside high-quality, evidence-informed assessment. You’ll play an important role in understanding family circumstances, identifying strengths and areas of need, and contributing to assessments that support children, families, social workers and courts in making important decisions.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working alongside families, committed to thoughtful and reflective practice, and wants to be part of shaping the next chapter of St Michael’s Fellowship. 🌱

💙 A huge thank you to Shiva, one of the brilliant foster carers we have the privilege of working with.

Every month, Shiva gets in touch to ask what supplies the families we support need, and then generously fills bags with hygiene products, baby supplies, baby food, nappies, shampoo, toothpaste and so much more. 🧴🍼👶

It’s a simple but incredibly meaningful act of kindness that makes a real difference to families when they need it most.
