Our intermediate goalball team took part in the Oxford tournament last weekend.

The team - Bittor, Jess, Andrew and Nick - supported by James and Russ Sparkes coaching, put in a great performance. We won 2 of our 3 games, making a great start to the season! 💪

Many thanks to Goalball UK, the staff and volunteers for such a great event. Well done to all the teams competing, and see you at the next tournament!

It’s October – time for more goalball!

Our practices sessions continue at the Castle Centre, near Elephant and Castle tube station.

This month dates are 13 October for regional training, and 27 October for intermediate and elite training.

We also have 2 tournaments coming up – the inters on 3 October, and regionals on 17 October.

💪 3 wins out of 4 in Sheffield! 💪

Our elite goalball team smashed it at the Super League tournament over the weekend! Brilliant performances all round from James, David Scott, Naqi, and Josh, backed by great support from Russ Sparkes and Tracy Compton.

The results mean we are now 3rd in the league and in a fantastic position heading into November's matches! 🥉

Thank you to Goalball UK, the hard-working volunteers, and all the opposing teams for a brilliant weekend of sport. Onwards and upwards!

Our ‘low intensity, high impact’ programme is proving very popular. This is an ongoing series of activities aiming to get visually impaired people out and about, socialising and having fun. It’s not as strenuous as our core sports, but just as much fun!

In recent months we’ve had activities including: yoga, horse riding, walks around the royal parks, accessible theatre performances, and a tour of Wimbledon. Plenty more is coming up soon!

Partially sighted football taster session on 29 September

We are holding an introductory session at the Leyton Score Centre, for people interesting in trying partially sighted football. This will be a fun, relaxed session, to give people the chance to try the hame out.

Meet and greet support will be available from Leyton Station on the Central Line.

Our elite goalballers took part in our first ever international tournament – the CAC Goalball Cup 2026 in Portugal. And came home with bronze medals!

The team – James, David Scott, Reuben and Josh, supported by Russ Sparkes as coach – faced teams from Portugal, Germany and Spain. We won the bronze medal play-off 13 – 3.

A huge thank you to all of the organisers, it was an incredible experience!

Tennis is back!

Our biweekly sessions at the Islington tennis centre have started again this week, after the summer break.

On Wednesday we had a great session for B1 (completely blind) players, and tomorrow we have our partially sighted session.

A fantastic Friday out in Regent’s Park!

Last week, we enjoyed a wonderful walk around the park, led by the incredibly knowledgeable The Royal Parks community engagement team.

After stretching our legs, we headed to the café for a hot drink and an informative presentation from VisionAid Technologies Ltd . It was great to learn more about how they operate and the fantastic products they offer!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this special day possible! 🙏
