The EaGLES Graduate Scheme page is dedicated to providing a place for graduates to explore internship opportunities available within Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) divisions in the City and Canary Wharf. The ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme (EaGLES) was created in 2005, to address the high unemployment and underemployment levels in east London. It is targeted at graduates who
are interested in a career in CSR and keen to act as role models and ambassadors for the local community. The carefully selected candidates undergo three weeks of intensive training at ELBA followed by a six-month paid work placement at a prestigious company in the City or Canary Wharf. These companies benefit from having a job-ready trainee with a detailed understanding of the needs of east London that adds value to CSR programmes and local recruitment strategies. This experience results in the graduates becoming highly employable, in fact 96% of the 75 graduates who successfully completed the scheme have gone on to find permanent employment.
