As you can see from this picture, residents are desperately in need of space to grow! Current demand for allotments far exceeds availability with some spaces with a wait time of up to 21years! I guess someone has been clever and is making the most of their front steps.

If you want to help the 'Right to Grow' movement, sign the petition by Dipa Patel asking the council to turn any unloved land over to the community for us to grow! Link is in bio 🪏

Here's a throwback photo from 2024.

Over the years, gardens change and so do children. I used to have beautiful lilies till they were feasted on by red beetles - and my son's favorite part of gardening used to be climbing the little ladder like his mum. Now his favorite part is looking for worms underneath pots.

Which do you introduce in your garden?

It's wonderful to watch your tree finally bear fruit. If you've ever wanted to grow your own food or feel that you'd love to join the community by "adopting" a bare-root tree please get in touch by filling out the community registration form and the free tree application.

If you have any questions just DM.

The Grow, Harvest & Gather community is for anyone who is either already growing food or would like to; whether on your allotment or just a few herb plants on your kitchen windowsill.

There is no minimum quantity to join, only whatever you're willing to swap/give away. In fact you only have to try to grow something, you don't even have to succeed!

We'll have different events over the course of the seasons such as food swaps, fundraisers, educational talks (related to our food systems, biodiversity, growing produce), and last but not least family picnics.

Please like & share for our social media audience to grow too. We're on Facebook & Instagram, whichever virtual space you prefer.

Why use pesticides when you can have these pretty little predators in your garden?

Part of learning is failing. I've accidentally killed my fair share of plants 😔 I've either given them too much light or too much water. You don't have to have a green thumb to be a part of this community. You only have to want to try 🌱

Fill out the form if you're interested in joining, link in bio⬆️

The Grow, Harvest & Gather community is for anyone who is either already growing food or would like to.

Once we have enough growers in our community, a date and location will be set where we come together with our produce and swap. We'll also have different events over the course of the seasons such as fundraisers, educational talks related to our food systems and growing food, and last but not least family picnics.

This space is new and will continue to grow. If you're a grower who wants to join feel free to fill out the form. Link in bio. There is no minimum quantity to join. In fact you only have to try to grow something, you don't even have to succeed!

Please like & share for this space to grow. We're also on Instagram if that's a virtual space you prefer to use.
